hi there! call me win; i stories n writing.

over the past few months, i was disappointed by the lack of resources for writing physical wlw intimacy, so i thought about how to help bridge the gap.

while i believe it has gotten more mainstream rep in recent years (which is great!), misconceptions about wlw sex still run deep outside queer-specific spaces. fandom spaces also generally reflect an imbalance: historically, there is more m/m material compared to f/f, as exemplified by destinationtoast's 2013 stats post, though the number of femslash fanworks has been growing over time.

and yet, if you google something along the lines of “how to write wlw smut,” one of the top results remains a misogynistic tumblr post that insists on lesbian sex being soft and “ruled by emotion”, all while perpetuating a terribly outdated, harmful idea for what is considered "real sex." while the original post dates back to 2012, it isn’t hard to still find those same sentiments floating around online.

thus, i currently aim to create a “beginner-friendly”, wlw-centered smut guide to publish someday on this blog. i don’t intend to speak for anyone, as i simply want to channel creative experience and sexual health research into a little online project. my past smut-writing experiences (until recently) came from mlm roleplay, but i’ve fallen in love with exploring wlw and want to do it justice.

what began as a private doc of notes has turned into a WIP that’s gotten pretty long. i don’t know exactly when i’ll share it, but i hope to do so eventually :)

These are my findings from different lesbian subreddits, organized by topic, that have supplemented my sex ed research by serving as anecdotal perspectives.

here's a take... nothing about the pairing may be remotely feminine, and yet they could still be obsessed over as women. firstly their personalities come before gender, and it turns turns out you dont need to be a male to be nuanced and tormented and deserving of a complex narrative (wow..). secondly they r still female even if they lack all the secondary characteristics that shape mainstream's perception of a woman. my desire could burn for them even as “unfeminine” females because they mirror what i embody. what resonates as female about them to me is their shared embodiment, their bond with each other as females, and how i channel certain feelings as a same-sex attracted woman through them, even if their world’s society doesnt necessarily resemble ours.

the same way ppl will obsess over a hyperfeminine man because the fellow is still male, i live for my female characters who exhibit GNC energy bc they are still whole and female just they way they r.
