𝑩𝑳𝑨𝑺𝑻 𝑶𝑭𝑭.

---- A lone Motobug rolls through, naturally in search of that darned blue hedgehog. The Doc’s orders were to patrol here, as Sonic was most recently seen in this grassy, green area. But what the ladybug-themed, uni-wheeled robot found was quite different than the usual nuisance of a blue ‘hog. Red and black? Good color scheme, but... it was probably dangerous.

      So, revving up it’s engine, the Motobug speeds toward Sardonyx, only for any potential glory to be swiped from either her or the Robotnik lackey.

       First, the sounds of a revving Spindash, then a blue streak, then a satisfying ‘THUNK!’ as the Motobug was destroyed.

      “ Whoops! Was that yours? ” The smirking blue hedgehog asks, in a rather sarcastic tone, as he uncurls.

  “Trouble,” was something Rock had almost learned to forget with his new friends at the Smash Manor, and yet here he was, tracking an unknown threat in a foreign land. He still didn’t know what they were searching for, but the higher-ups back home had decided that something in Sonic’s own Chemical Plant warranted a check-up. 

Why Rock was dragged along… well, he wasn’t sure, but he wasn’t complaining, either. Cocky as he was, he kind of enjoyed the hedgehog’s company. And a chance to explore a new world entirely was something he couldn’t pass up, and his excitement showed as he traveled across the pipes and platforms of the energy plant.

“We’ve got nothing like this back home.” Rock… might’ve been rambling since they’d arrived. “I mean, we’ve got a power plant, but Elec Man helps run that. Nothing like this, though! Do you guys use nuclear energy?”

---- Trouble brewing was nothing new to the prickly, blue hero... especially in a place like the Chemical Plant he’d raided many times in the past. It seemed a popular spot for Eggman’s antics, given the... well, production value it gives him. After all, Sonic hated water. Especially smelly, pink water that rises upward and traps you in it. ... He’d been so preoccupied plugging his nose and trying to avoid pools of the stuff that he’d pretty much missed Rock’s ramblings. ... Save for when he was directly addressed, which snapped him back to attentiveness.

      “ Idunno. Usually whenever I show up i’m a little busy tryin’ not to drown, so there’s no time for a science lesson. ”

      Not that he’d care enough to listen in if there was. Who cared if it was nuclear, solar, or chaos energy powering this place? It was no good any which way you look at it! ... Especially with that liquid. Ugh, the smell was arguably worse than being stuck in the stuff!

   “Oh– I’m not a Mobian, I’m…uh. From somewhere different, I guess. Blue hedgehog, though. You must be the Sonic guy I’ve heard a lot about, huh?”

---- “ Hey-hey! I’m glad word gets around! Sonic the Hedgehog, that’s me! ”

      Sonic points to himself with both thumbs, a cocky grin forming on his muzzle... which was a pretty standard look for the speedster. ... Though, that faded to a curious gaze once he was done... gloating.

---- He didn’t appreciate how... sandy, and deserted Green Hill had become lately. It was one of the Blue Blur’s favorite spots to visit, and run around in without a care... but seeing all of it’s lush plains, and beautiful waterfalls just... gone, replaced with dry, dirty sand... that was a bit heartbreaking.

      In an effort to find out what was causing all of these shenanigans, Sonic did what he did best... ran. Trekking through Green Hill to find something... someone...

      And of course, the moment he sees someone, he’s going to be ENTIRELY too judgmental. Who cares if they didn’t do it?! They were probably involved somehow!

{💕};— When bright green eyes met with the bipedal hedgehog’s coal black but very lively ones, it wasn’t just in ‘looks’ that he could see the similarities. Sonic could feel that bombastic energy that he has himself with in this little fellow!

And the compliment was just the icing to top it all off. The blue haired male’s lips that was lop sided in curiosity, turned into a full on overzealous grin.

“Hey, I like the way you think. Speed is always key in my book!” He lightly chuckle as he stood straight up.

Then that emerald thingy was mentioned again. Sonic put his hands on his hips and shrugged. “I think a floating emerald coming from the sky would be pretty big news and I would have told you if I have saw something like that, so I’m sure that I haven’t seen anything like that.” Then his cupped his chin. “I’m gussing this emerald rhingy is pretty important, yeah?”

He knew the feeling to be honest.

---- Likewise, Sonic could definitely sense a bit of... himself in this... human? He assumed it was a human, anyway... sure looked like one, from his experience with his future self’s descriptions. Species didn’t matter too much, though... the cool thing here was the similarities! This guy was cool!

      The hedgehog strikes a thumbs-up, grinning up at the other. ... So this guy DID like the sense of speed! He only got cooler and cooler! ... In that case, time to show him something REALLY cool!

      “ Trust me! I know all about speed, ah yeah! ” Sonic begins, getting into a position he could easily take off from. While he’s the center of attention, might as well show off a little bit, right?! “ Watch this! ”

      Off he went, running as fast as his little legs could carry him, leaving little more than a blue blur visible as he sprinted. ... Sonic wasn’t gone long, though, after a few SECONDS, he was back at his original spot, giving... the blue-haired male a few pats on the leg, accompanied by a smirk. No words needed.

      ... Well, that is, until the hedgehog remembered his goal here.

Mettaton wanted to be sure he held on tight, but he didn’t know just how fast the blue hedgehog could go.  Yet, he was about to find out for himself.  He had to dodge some obstacles here and there and felt like a wind sock stuck in a hurricane.

He looks down to see that the blue hedgehog is going really fast, but he also felt something else.  Moments later, Mettaton flew backwards about a few yards.  However, his arm is still attached to the hedgehog’s grasp.

He crashes into something that looked like a TV of some sort and ended up with these gold rings on his legs.

“…My head.” Mettaton looks around wondering where he was and where the blue hedgehog went.  He needed his arm back, but he had doubts of it afterwards.  He still has one arm left and two of his legs.

“Sonic?… Sonic?!  Where are you?”

He kicks away some debris not knowing that his kick has gotten stronger.  He sighs and hopes no one of terrible power encounters him.

---- ... It didn’t take Sonic long to note that Mettaton and his arm had become... well, separate... ish. A quick retracing of his steps led the hedgehog back to his... guest... in a rather amusing position. Ah, those Video Monitors... people never seemed to get a good grasp on how they worked, did they? Seems like Mettaton had some extra Rings, at least.

      “ Need a hand? ”

      The Blue Blur cracked a smile at his own pun, offering his hand and giving a good pull, to help the robot get up. ... Now, onto more pressing matters.

      “ Well, we can’t let that happen again! I could probably carry ya’, i’m stronger than I look! And then we’d get there way faster than we would if I was just draggin’ ya along? Whaddya’ say? ”

      Sonic asks, crossing his arms once more, and looking up at the robotic star with a rather questioning glance. Carrying seemed like the easiest way to get Mettaton to Tails’ workshop... but the hedgehog didn’t want to make anything... overly weird. ... Now, if this were more urgent, he might just take off with Mettaton without asking, not caring for the robot’s opinion on the matter. ... But, it wasn’t, so asking seemed appropriate.

🔥 Arrogance, a common trait in these ‘newcomers’ that was a pain to deal with. Yet something about this one seemed to be much more annoying than the others. 🔥

“Talk big all you want, but in the end the only thing that will prove your strength will be the tournament. If you can even make it past the first round.” 

---- “ Hey, I only talk big because I know I can bring the heat just as well as you can! I will admit, everyone here seems crazy strong, tho’! I’m excited, if anything! ”

      Sonic smirks, moving to lean against the wall, arms now crossed. He was gearing up for a good time, win or lose! That’s all that mattered to him, really! ... But despite that, he’d still try his darn hardest to prove himself the best here.
