1. The Uke Song

starting off strong, The Uke Song features energetic instruments alongside lyrics talking about love & heartbreak. this song somehow always manages to make me smile, it's so cute :3

2. Wickenden Kids

this song is full of energy, and half the origins of my username (wickendencaterpillar). this song is a favorite amongst TRO fans who know of Demo Recordings, and for good reason. it goes over themes of love, helping a loved one, and worry. this song is very fun to listen to, and brightens my day.

3. The Goal

this song certainly differs from the rest of the EP, and i'm not entirely sure what its about, but it seems to be about the relationship between someone and a long-time friend and that friend finally achieving their life goal- starting a family. the protagonist seems to understand this means they will not talk as much, and they hope that friend doesn't forget the memories the two have made together. it takes up both a sentimental sound and theme. that's my interpretation. im not that big of a fan of this song, though it still holds a special place in my heart!!

4. Modern Minds

this song is CERTAINLY my favorite off the album. i love how this song sounds. this song is about love, specifically defining one's lover, anger towards people, depression, refusal of falling line and being like everyone else, and being heartbroken. i love the lyrics and sound, and it is one of my favorite songs of all time (i say this alot)

5. Such is the Way

this song is about love, acceptance that the world and relationships change, and wishing things would go back to how they were. this song is absolutely beautiful, the mostly soft/slow instrumentals mixed with the beautiful lyrics combined with my own memories with this song like finding it for the first time or listening to it with my ex-lover all come together to make this song very important to me, and i couldnt be more grateful for it's existence

6. And So The Sun Must Rise Again

this song is about love, and having to part ways with someone you once loved more than anything, yet still loving them despite what happened. it also briefly goes over doubt that anything can last following the parting. this song is an amazing track, i love the instrumental, and i love the lyrics. although it does not remain a favorite of mine, it was for a while and helped me through a lot and therefore it is very important to me.

i'm not going to include the 7th track, Miss Mary Mack, as it was originally included in this EP before moving to the band's first official release, an EP titled Applefork in 2013.

overall EP rating: 9/10

this EP, mainly about love & heartbreak, is very special to me. its helped me through a lot, and almost every song holds sentimental value for me, some more than others.
