âWas this his life now, wandering around aimlessly hoping, wondering if heâll ever go back home? He swallowed down tears that threatened to slip down his cheeks. Biting down on his lips, he cleared his throat and swallowed once again. Something drew his attention, a soft sound. Sprouting his wings, he pushed himself up to the level where the sound was coming from. Spotting someone in the corner. âHey⌠Are you ok?â The figure seemed familiar, but he made that mistake before and needed to make sure it was the person he assumed it was before deciding to call them out by name.
That voice. It was angelic, reassuring. It was the voice of reason in his head that Billy would hear when he debated internally if something was morally correct. His head shot up from its hiding place to see if Teddy was really there or if it was the voice of reasoning in his head. Through the tears and the sadness, a smile pressed onto his face and he pushed himself off the ground. He ran into him, wrapping his arms around Teddy tightly and pressing his head into his chest. Tears ran down his cheeks and caught onto the fabric of his shirt. He sniffled then looked up to make sure this wasnât a dream. âIâm better now that youâre here.âÂ
