what if your whole role in a story was to try so hard to be a prince and a king for a crumbling nation so that it could feel united once more. what if you were just an orphan boy before having the role of prince thrusted upon you by a man that clearly wants to install you as a puppet ruler and a woman who swears to be your mother who is so sorry for having abandoned you. a woman so helpless in her grief she now never leaves your side. what if you quickly realized you were a terrible ruler and begged the charismatic girl leader of the army to take charge instead of you. what if you were a boy who was so scared, got forced into The position a man would want, and you felt so lost and useless that you immediately wished a girl would take your place instead. what if you then got forced into a position that sucked so much your first solution is to kill yourself. everyone wants you to be their Son, their King, the Man who will save the country. you are specifically made to be in contrast to the female protagonist. you just want to live a normal life at this point.

Digging through RD supports over at Serenes Forest. For some reason royals and other characters with titles are much more likely to be adressed with unique support lines. An odd choice, but it does give us some fun unique lines between people who otherwise wouldn't talk to one other.

i bet during pre-relationship/early relationship ike gets flustered victorian style over seeing a slither of skin from soren. like they definitely bathed together when they were younger but soren is so skittish that i feel that stopped once they got a bit older
