Honestly I love when whumpees 'stuck' in one way or another. It's such a lovely and constant source of anxiety through the whole scene whether it's a background factor or the main theme. I just love it. Here, have some prompts!

Whumpee twisting and pulling against the ropes, red rashes and bruising slowly forming with their pathetic attempts.

"Oh, I'm sorry - is that too tight? Good."

Whumpee freezing as they hear the lock on the door click. Realization washing over them.

"If you keep struggling, this will hurt more."

Whumpee beating themself against the door of a closet, desperately trying to break free. Bruising their shoulders and fists over and over again until they slump, sobbing, to the ground.

"Aww, you look so cute just dangling like that. Sorry, but I don't think I can resist giving you a spin."

Whumpee's fingers going numb and tingly from being restrained too long, too tight, or at too odd an angle.

Of course, Whumper pinning Whumpee to the wall. By their wrists. By their arms. A hand at their throat. All good stuff.

OR Whumper slowly advancing as Whumpee skitters back until they are pressed against the wall. Whumper doesn't touch; they just lean against the wall with one hand on either side of them, trapping them.

"Looks like there's no where else to run. What are you going to do now?"

A knife pressed hard against Whumpee's throat. How they immediately stop thrashing, speaking, or fighting. They know if they even flinch, it will break the skin. They go completely still, trying to force desperate breaths to stay shallow and smooth.

Whumpee's arms held tight at an unnatural angle - be it a stress position or just tied a little too tight. The way they shiver and writhe, trying to relieve the pressure.

"If you don't hold still, I'll use barbed wire instead."

Whumpee caught by a hand wound through their hair. They can kick and scream and pull all they want, but they're not going anywhere.

Whumpee finally manages to pick the lock. Sobbing in relief, they wrench the door open to escape - …only to see Whumper staring down at them. “Going somewhere?”

"Last chance. Stop fighting me."

Whumpee with broken bones. Unable to walk. Completely dependent on Whumper to move and/or care for them.

A weak whumpee struggling against a much stronger whumper. The amount of effort it takes to hold them still is almost laughable.

"P-please no. Not the box. Not again. It's - it's s-so small."

Whumpee dangling by their wrists. Legs shaking. Shoulders aching. Hands numb. Alternating between forcing their trembling legs or hold them and letting themselves hang by the shackles. Too tired to cry. Just praying Whumper comes back soon.

Whumpee sprinting through a maze, skittering to a stop as they hit another dead end. They scramble back the other way only to stop dead in their tracks as Whumper rounds the corner.

"Aww. You can hardly even wriggle. No need to look so embarrassed. It's adorable."

Keeping “whumper” to make it easier

The whumper hates it, they have to remember everything they had done with the whumper and work backwards. problem is that they don’t want to remember.

The caretaker doesn’t know if they can even trust the whumper, but they’re the only chance they have at giving the whumpee a better future.

the whumpee doesn’t know what the whumper is going to do to them afterwards, they only know that the whumper is mad at them so they don’t want to wake up in a horrible situation, they don’t want that to happen again.

That’s how the whumpee gets captured, they get drugged and the whumper holds them while they’re both alone- the whumpee is panicking so much because they don’t know who this person is.

“Rise and shine!” Whumper yelled from the door way.

Whumpee only groaned in response. Whumper sighed and walked over to the cot.

“Get up” they demanded

Whumpee barely twitched.

“Lazy piece of shit” whumper snarled

They wrapped their hand around whumpee’s wrist and pulled, sending whumpee tumbling to the floor with a cry of pain. All they could do was lie there on the cold concrete shaking and clutching their side.

“what the hell is wrong with you, come on get up.”

They tried to push themself up, only to fall back to the floor.

That was when whumper noticed the blood on their shirt. A patch the size of their palm. They tapped at it with their toe.

“What is this?”

Whumpee gave a sharp whine, their vision going white from the pain.

“Please...” they rasp as they reach out to whumper just before going limp.

Whumpee wakes up as they are sat down on the edge of a bath tub. They’ve never been in this part of whumper’s house before.

“Take your shirt off” they demanded

“Wha...”

“I need you to take your shirt off so I can get a look at that wound.”

They let out a low hiss as they pull their shirt off, the movement only aggravating the wound. Tears pool in their eyes but they continue. One arm out then the other. When they finally got it off they were sweating profusely, face flushed. Ruined bandages were messily wrapped around their middle.

Whumper put their arm around whumpee and leaned them into their chest.

“It’s going to be okay” they whisper.

Whumpee wants to believe them with every fiber of their being, they want to curl into them and cry until everything is okay.

Whumper could tell that they were holding back tears. In that moment something inside them shifted. Why were they doing this? Whumpee had never done anything to them, so why were they hurting them? They feel ... bad? They had never felt like this before.

“I’m sorry.” They whisper

Whumpee doesn’t know why whumper is apologizing. They don’t know how to respond, so they just stay quiet. It’s safer that way.

“I’m going to take these off now.” They tell whumpee, gesturing to the bandages. Whumpee nods in response.

The bandages come away to reveal a nasty gash in whumpee’s side. Blood and puss ooze from the infected wound. Whumpee whimpers as whumper gently prods at the red skin around it. They put their hand to whumpee’s forehead, the skin is hot with fever.

Whumper sighs as they pull their hand away “we’re going to need to get you to a doctor”

(Trigger warning for abuse, electroshock therapy, torture, and ableism.)

The US court has overturned the ban on shock devices being used against disabled students, predominantly autistic students in the US.

The shock device being legalized is called the graduated electronic decelerator (or GED). This is a torture device that is used to ‘correct’ autistic behaviors / symptoms. Autistic people are shocked for stimming, and for having meltdowns, ect. This device was made popular by a behavioral center (the Judge Rosenberg Center, specifically) that is infamous for its abuse and torture of autistic / disabled patients.

This is what the device looks like. It sends electric shocks into the victim’s skin; the victim often being restrained and held against their will. This is torture. GEDs have been reported to cause intense psychological trauma, PTSD, and physical injuries.

In March of 2020, the FDA ruled for GEDs to be banned. (Although, of course, they were still illegally used at a number of places.) This ruling has recently been appealed, and today, the US court of appeals has re-regulated the law to stop the use of GED. Sounds great, right? It would be!

... If not for a huge loophole in the wording, which basically allows this torture to continue. This device is going to have continued use on autistic students in order to “correct their behavior.”

Whumper turned Caretaker Lines

“Look. I know. I know I hurt you, and I know you probably hate my guts. But right now, I’m the only one who can help you. I’m sorry, okay? Let me fix at least one of the things I’ve broken. Please.”

“I’m so sorry. Fuck, I never wanted to do this, I never wanted to hurt you, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…god…”

“I’m getting you out of here. I had no idea what my boss’s real plans were. I’m sorry I ever followed their orders…I’m getting you out of this.”

“Could you ever forgive me? For all of the horrible things I’ve done, for all of the times I’ve hurt you. Will I ever be anything but a monster in your eyes?”

Because Mustang wasn’t trying to fight Scar.

Ed being saved at the last second is excellent dramatic tension, but ignore the storytelling stuff and look at the scene from a tactical perspective. Scar can destroy/kill anything he touches. His hand is literally inches away from Ed’s face, and Ed can’t even get to his feet, let alone defend himself. Scar’s really fucking fast, and the backup is standing a good twenty feet back. Which is why everyone stands there and lets him have a little monologue, because this isn’t a showdown with a serial killer; it’s a hostage situation. If Scar went for the kill, they wouldn’t be able to stop him. They’re not going to talk him down, Ed’s not going to escape, so the immediate priority is to make Scar move away. Ideally without alerting him to the fact that he’s got a hostage at his feet.

So Mustang hands Hawkeye his weapon and steps up as a shiny distraction, trying to get Scar to walk away from the helpless Fullmetal Alchemist and come fuck up the Flame Alchemist instead. Note that Hawkeye doesn’t move until Scar’s begun walking forwards; she’s not going to make any sudden moves while the serial killers got a victim in arms reach. But one Ed’s out of immediate danger, she’s charging in to cover Mustang, and shots get fired.

Also notice how Ed doesn’t react to the situation until Havoc’s helping Ed sit up? Yeah, that also seems… purposeful. When Scar’s giving his short monologue, he’s literally standing over Ed. Of course Ed’s going to be silent and stay perfectly still - if he draws Scar’s attention, then he’ll be killed or used as a hostage. So he just keeps laying there while Scar’s standing over him, and doesn’t try to wiggle away or say anything, because it would be a very bad time to be noticed.

Caretaker didn't exactly know what was going on, but when Whumpee had silently motioned them into their room, they had followed.

It had been weeks, months, and still Whumpee hadn't opened up to Caretaker, had barely spoken to them, always skirting them like a frightened animal. So whenever an opportunity presented itself, Caretaker took it.

They stood just inside Whumpee's room, giving them plenty of space, but they had their eyes glued to Whumpee. Whumpee took a deep breath, fiddling with the hem of their shirt.

"I want- no, I need to show you something," Whumpee said finally, in a surprisingly hoarse voice.

Caretaker nodded, still confused. "Of course. Whatever you need."

Whumpee let their eyes fall closed for a moment before slowly pulling their shirt off, back to Caretaker. Scars, of every shape, size, and texture, littered their body. Some were so awful Caretaker didn't want to know how they had been made and some Caretaker could see being made with nauseating clarity.

They took a small step forward. "Can I touch them?" they asked softly.

Whumpee gave a tight nod, and Caretaker closed the space between them, laying one hand flat on their back, feeling the ridges and curves of the scars. Whumpee stiffened, as if barely holding back a flinch, but slowly began to relax into the touch.

The whumpee’s vision slowly going fuzzy as they slide down the wall, their legs giving out on them. they’re dimly aware of the panicked words of their friends, of careful hands jostling them, searching for an injury. they’re just so tired. 

“[Name]? [Name], you gotta stay with us, okay? Just a bit longer, buddy.”

Can the whumpee walk with help? Leaning on someone, with their arm slung around the caretaker’s shoulders? Do they need to be carried? Either way, they experience the transition to movement in bursts – one minute, they’re on the ground, and the next, they’re being picked up.

The whumpee losing bits of time as they fade in and out of awareness, moaning as their injuries are jostled. They just barely hear the caretaker’s frantic apologies.

Are they feverish? Do they know what’s going on? Do they know where they are, and who’s taking care of them?

“Hey, glad to see you back with us! No – you’re safe, everything is okay! We just need to let the doctors take a look at you, okay? I’ll be here the whole time.”

The caretaker or a medical professional narrating what’s happening to get the whumpee to stay with it, informing them that, okay, they’re gonna pull up your shirt, and then we’re gonna get a look at that wound. just a few more stitches, you’re doing so good.

Whumpees who fight unconsciousness with all their might. Maybe they’re worried about nightmares or visions. Maybe they’re scared that this isn’t really real. Maybe the whumper punished them for falling asleep!

Caretakers who recognize this and tell the whumpee that it’s okay, they can give in now, they don’t need to fight anymore, they’ll be right here.

OR whumpees who want nothing more than the blissful oblivion of sleep/unconsciousness, but they’re too miserable and in too much pain to even pass out. They keep slipping in and out of agonizing moments until the caretaker notices and asks if we can get some pain meds over here, please?
