This comment was left on a post about making the most of the Libby app. "Excessive use of generous lending policies" is the most absurd phrase I've ever seen anyone use to discuss libraries.
Ok Libraries buy multiple digital copies to lend but each digital copy only has so many loans. So the copies deplete and then the library has to buy more to keep up with demand. At least that's how it was explained to me about audio books. It's not like libraries get their books for free. They pay for them. It's no different than if I buy a book and loan it to my friend.
