On the one hand, Ilya very clearly experiencing PTSD is very Important To Me For Personal Reasons. On the other hand, I’d kinda prefer it continues going unnamed by the fandom at large because the way some people treat PTSD as a fun plot device that can somehow be cured by romance or just offers this voluptuous angst factor like “oh geez, Ilya sure is afraid of abuse and abandonment, wouldn’t it be good if he suffered more for the hurt/comfort of it all” ….idk it makes me feel like some of yall don’t take PTSD seriously.

I know people work thru their own trauma and feelings in fanfic, just like all art, and more importantly I’m not the fandom police here to say who can write what regardless….but idk, a proliferation of “Ilya is a jumpy prey animal who breaks down because he thinks David Hollander is going to suddenly backhand them” fanfics wouldn’t be like…my favorite thing…
