Save Me Evil Purple Woman

Aahhh hi hello!! Initially what got me was her voice! I thought the deeper voice sounded really nice and the more I played, felt Emma had great range with the emotions behind it. You could really hear when she spoke with passion and conviction about battles, or the sarcasm when she’d tease Gale, or softness in her romance scenes or when she’s nostalgic about Menzoberranzan.

Beyond that though, I enjoyed an ‘evil’ character that is nuanced. Surface level, I think many see her as evil. Then we learn more about her indoctrination by the Absolute and how she grew up in Menzoberranzan. I wasn’t familiar with anything DND related prior to BG3 and was fascinated by the drow and their society. A harsh society with brutal standards and ways of living, but you can see how it shaped her into being cunning and sharp and dangerous. Yet her ‘evil’ isn’t really senseless. There is purpose to her actions to further some scheme or ensure loyalty, protect herself/not leaving loose ends etc.

TL;DR - voice acting was awesome. Her nuanced ‘evil’ is fun to think about and find reasoning behind.

Oh and she’s hot. And after Aria T’Loak, I may have a thing for evil purple women.
