Flambae is an omega. Because of his fire powers he’s totally infertile — his inner temperature is too high for conception. But he never wanted children to begin with so he’s totally cool about it. 

He can’t get diseases and his heats are rather mellow — he just gets sensitive and horny but nothing like absolute loss of control some omegas experience. Mainly because his body knows that heats for him are fruitless. So he loves sex. The man is a massive whore.

Flambae also is strong. Not just for omega but overall. That means it’s difficult to get him into compromised position and force him to do anything he doesn’t want. Life is good for Flambae.

Robert is an alpha but also infertile because of a trauma he got in his youth. However for him life is so not good — his ruts are very animalistic and uncomfortable. Mainly because he loses control over himself and mainly behaves not aggressively but instinctively.

He is average in terms of strength but he knows a lot of tricks how to immobilise enemies. So during his ruts his hindbrain uses all the information and skills he gathered. And it means he usually spends his ruts alone. It’s not painful for him but rather lonely.

Robert doesn’t care about sex mostly. He likes it but can live without easily. However he doesn’t like his ruts.

So once Flambae decides to spend Robert’s rut with him he finds out several very captivating things about the experience:

Robert is very easy to manipulate during a rut - he’s all instincts and they all are rather primitive.

2. During a rut Robert fucks with abandon and there is nearly nothing he can’t be manipulated to do.

3. Flambae absolutely LOVES the power he gets over Robert and the way the alpha gives everything to pleasure and breed him.

It could get dark with any other partner but at his core Flambae is a morally ok guy with no desire to hurt Robert. To play with him — sure, to get his pleasure out of him — yes, but not to hurt. 

Flambae used to have a lot of money from his villain work. However he was stupid with it - didn’t invest, just bought expensive clothes, went out to fancy high end places and chose luxurious past-times. Didn’t buy a house, didn’t hide even a portion of his money. As a result after his arrest he lost everything and doesn’t have that much to his name.

Because of this he doesn’t care about luxury lifestyle now and considers most of rich bloggers dumb and narrow-minded. Prism mostly agrees.

Flambae also lived through a lot of different social situations. Where Robert is experienced in hero work Flambae is experienced in reading social cues. Robert trusts him in situations that require such knowledge.

Robert uses emojis while texting, and Flambae overuses them. Robert doesn’t understand at least half of them but somehow still wins every “guess the film/song by emojis” game.

Robert keeps all the chats/apps on mute except for the pet calendar app that notifies him when Beef needs to eat/walk or visit a vet. And the suit one.

Flambae loves the sound of notifications, they boost his ego. His phone is the loudest in the Z team always lighting up and chiming and getting on people’s nerves. However he has special settings he can turn on in 3 secs with a couple of moves that turn off all the unimportant stuff.

Robert’s phone is encrypted so heavily it requires an additional battery. And Flambae doesn’t give a shit who reads his messages or gets a hold of his position or information.

His niece had Flambae hooked on a virtual fantasy pet game so now he looks after a fire lion and gets anxious every time he misses the scheduled feeding or playtime and the lion gets sad. It’s gotten so bad that Robert took it upon himself to care for Flambae’s pet through working hours. God help him if the lion is crying when Flambae opens the app.

Robert doesn’t have any games on his phone. However he has apps that show constellations, high tide and waves, can recognise and identify plants and birds. His case is that additional battery case without any accessories. 

Flambae doesn’t use cases for phones at all. He has a lot of messengers and dating apps, apps for clubs and shops to get discounts/benefits, photo/video editing and social media apps, workout and cooking apps. And a karaoke app that he likes to use sometimes while cooking/cleaning. He’s an app king second to only Prism. 

I’ve been thinking about hybrid AUs in Dispatch. And after some consideration I present you!

Flambae – a yellow-throated marten hybrid or a wild polecat hybrid. Fast, vicious and aggressive, but at the same time social and dexterous.

We all know that Robert is poor. We know he spent millions on maintaining the suit, sold everything he could and lives off cheap ultra-processed food. But like why is he poor exactly? Bobby and Robbie also did hero work and they had to spend money on their mecha suits. However after they died their sons had inheritance money and a place to live. It appears that Robbie built on the foundation his father left him but Robert couldn’t. What happened?

Economy happened

Or to be precise – inflation grew faster while Robert was Mechaman. Paint, metal, energy, forging, etc. became more and more expensive faster and Robert had to choose between investing his funds for future profits or using those funds to repair the suit.

Robert also could have tried working a mundane job but again – the difference between wages and prices in last 20 years became abhorrent. So usual job couldn’t even begin to cover the expenses.

Bad financial decisions happened

I believe Robbie taught his son a lot of important life-saving skills but financial literacy was not one of them. I believe Robert made a great number of mistakes like buying expensive things that had cheaper analogues and liquidating assets at the wrong time and selling rights to some things because he needed a big sum faster.

So he wasn’t able to keep assets that brought him passive income and at the same time couldn’t make enough money any lawful and simple way to create new assets.

Hero work happened

As the state of his body suggests Robert takes a lot of hits and makes a lot of impulsive or ill-advised decisions while doing hero work. We see it with Flambae for example, when he decided to face him head-on after evacuating civilians from the building.

It almost seems like Robert subconsciously wants to destroy his mecha or punish it for being such an enormous part of his family’s history. A legacy. And he’s not suicidal but destroying the suit destroys its pilot so part of him just came to terms with the idea easily – it is a family tradition after all.

Full-time hero work happened

But Bobby and Robbie also did hero work, right? They also needed to repair their suits. What might have changed?

Well, it appears that Robert does hero work full-time where his ancestors did it less often. In Bobby’s times there were no enhanced superheroes and way less robots and tech upgrades. Robbie had a team that worked with him and took some of the damage for him. And Robert has to deal with modern day villains who use military grade weapons with stronger impact, new types of aggressive chemicals that didn’t exist 20-30 years ago and futuristic types of armor and god knows what else. Progress made being a villain cheaper and more accessible for normies and supers. And that lead to Mechaman working more. 

Which lead to the suit taking new types of damage more frequently. 

Which lead to Robert needing more and more money or stopping for some time.

I always saw Robert as not jealous type and flambae as someone irritated by jealousy, but I saw some fanfics with a little jealousy working well between them in either way? What do you think?

Sure, anon.

I see Robert as someone who can be jealous but won’t act on it. He manages his feelings pretty well and trusts his partners. Because why go into it and invest if you don’t trust them, right?

And Flambae is just not jealous with one night/week stands — and it’s like 95% of his partners. If he’s not satisfied with something he just leaves.
