he smirks behind the mask, ever pleased with lucifer - the other just tended to think in such a way that chernabog found himself agreeing with. its surprises him how much lucifer seems to understand of chernabog’s plan and part of him wonders if perhaps he should bring the knight into more planning meetings and have him in the tight inner circle that chernabog holds. he’s proven himself trustworthy and resourceful enough. he does like the prince of hell. “trust me, there are things in the works in the back ground.”

the claws on his arm do not amuse him, eyes narrowed behind the mask. a growl in his chest, the king tightens his grip on her side and gives a warning. “remove the claws from my arm, lilith, or i shall rip them off your body.” head turned to look at her, eyes flash solid white in warning before returning to the brown of his vessel. “you might be one of my knights but i can easily replace you.” he does not like having to remind those of his power, that he is their king and that he should be respected and feared. “we are stronger in the shadows, my dear. put yourself in the spotlight and you’re bound to have a target growing. they already fear the whispers and what we’ve done so far, how do you think it would go if we were so publicly available, hm?”

he should have known he couldn’t keep his true identity from one such as vlad. even with the new vessel and the mask covering his face, the hybrid was one of his chosen few. hand raised to put a finger to his lips, the daemon gives a chuckle. “vlad, why would i spoil the plans?” shaking his head, the king gives a tsk of his tongue. “too much too fast. attack the king in his home like this and it’ll be sure to lock it all down. not everyone will make it out.” and chernabog would be certain to escape but he would certainly sacrifice others just as quickly.  

he summoned her quickly after the party, pleased with the happenings of the event. the throne room frosted over with his entrance. eyes glance around and he finds himself alone and of course that’s exactly how he wants it. he hates when the small daemons flock to him so quickly, vying for his attention. while he adored it most of the time, right now the king wanted to be alone, save for his horseman he wanted. “come in.” gesturing that the doors opened silently as she approached, inviting her in the throne room. “close the door behind you.”

he knew things were bound to get far more interesting, if all went to plan that is. devious as he is cruel, the king always had a plan of some kind in motion and this one he hopes would set the right people into action. head tilted slightly as the other spoke, the king gives a dry laugh. “i have things in motion, famine. do not fear of that.”

the sight never stopped amusing him, watching his horseman work so silently. it caused him almost joy to see it happen, a smile creeping behind the mask so carefully chosen to hide his features. the king glances around and gives a small nod at the other. “when have you known me not to have a plan?” he wouldn’t voice it aloud, oh no- why would he risk such a thing in crowds such a this. those who knew their role were already dispatched and he didn’t need much else. “but sometimes leisure is the plan.”

he smiles fondly in remembrance of that particular night. “yet here we are.” it’s amusing how they still seem to make the same mistakes as always. they do not want the daemons in but make no efforts in really keeping them out. as if the lack of invitation was going to possess any kind of troubles for chernabog and his chosen. his finger comes up to the still lips of his mask, a silent shush for his prince. “what would you do? i want to hear your thoughts.” 

he has an overall fondness for his knights but a few he holds a little dearer than the others. lilith, truly a woman of wonder and power. more often than not he’s wondered about making a throne all for her, crowning her as a queen and sharing the glory but in the end, he’s a selfish being and wants it all for himself. he’s almost silent as he comes to stand next to her, putting a hand on her waist and pulling the daemon in close. “you look beautiful tonight. this party should be in your honor.”

it pleased him to see so many of his creations here with him tonight. the party was going smoothly, in his opinion, and he didn’t have any want to make that untrue. wandering around the people, the king listens to chatter with interest, listening for something that could be of any use. “tell me,” he speaks lowly toward his horseman. “are you having any kind of fun tonight?”

i have coffee and muse so that means . ＳＴＡＲＴＥＲ ＣＡＬＬ . for the event ! if you want chernabog to have a little fun with your babes, give this a little like. please reply for who you want specifically or i’ll just let a random generator pick who he’s going to bother. 

he’s never seen death look so good. though his face is hidden well behind his mask, chernabog gives his horseman an approving grin and hands the deity a glass of something dark and strong. the king lifts his glass silently before coming to stand next to the other. “something tells me,” he started with a low voice. “that you were not invited either, my friend.”

his own mask covered most of his face, wanting to conceal his identity as best he could. while he’s aware others will be able to feel his presence, he hopes that in the mass of people that he’ll go unnoticed for now. a grin curls at his lips, hidden behind the mask but still present regardless of being seen. “perhaps they would have,” he mused, looking around them with interest at the goers. “had they not made such a large fuss about it. the grander the party, the more it’s talked about.” chuckles rise from his chest. his hand lifts to place on lucifer’s shoulder, leaning in to talk to the daemon. “i wonder what the intent of the night is. i wonder if mortals shall be sacrificed in the name of the fae- now that would make things interesting.”

the image of a snake sliding out from the shadows crosses his mind, tongue flickering out to taste the air and sense for dangers. the king watches the other for a moment in silence, eyes glancing down at the rock with a smirk curling at his lips before looking back up at the face of the horseman. of course he was upset, he wanted to snap at the other. the offer of course, caused him pause and the king smiled. “rumor has it the little fae bunch are having a party. they think they can keep us out.”
