I mean, at first glance he’s pretty masculine. cool, strong guy on a motorbike, fearless leader, sarcastic, whatever

but this guy has a bunch of little brothers that he basically he raised, he takes care of the sick in the clan, he trains the fledglings, he’s incredibly nurturing. he is a big brother, and a caring one. 

I can easily see him sit down and have emotional talks with those who really need it, comfort fledglings with a hug after a nightmare, none of that macho “no homo” or emotionless bullshit when it really matters. also, he has an incredible respect for strong, hard-working women like his mother.

Yeah, Rowan may be Rhysand’s opposite, but he is NOTHING like TAMLIN.

He fucking lost his mate, that’s why he’s overbearing and protective. He’s fucked up in his life, and he’s trying not to repeat his mistakes. I’m not excusing him for the bad things he’s done—biting Aelin, putting her in peril numerous times, et cetera, et cetera—but he’s not fucking abusive like Tamlin the Fucking Twat and he sure as hell doesn’t treat Aelin as his property. Plus, Aelin has gotten him back a few times for what he’s done to her.

Rowan and Aelin are best fucking friends and carranam, and they’ve healed each other after breaking down walls. THEY LOVE EACH OTHER MORE THAN ANYBODY IN THIS GIVEN MOMENT IN TIME.

Also, need I remind you that Rowan took the blood oath to Aelin. So if she felt freaking overwhelmed with how “overbearing” Rowan is—SHE’D FUCKING TELL HIM AND HE’D HAVE TO BACK OFF.

i repeat. it was training time when both Rowan and Rhysand exposed Aelin and Feyre to dangerous circumstances aka The Weaver, The Barrow Wights, biting Aelin, allowing Feyre to let out her powers by exposing her to different situations, etc etc

But after training, both guys took care of the ladies.

THEY—meaning Rhys and Rowan—HAVE BOTH PUT THEIR LADIES THROUGH DUMB AND PERILOUS SITUATIONS BUT HAVE TAKEN CARE OF THEM AFTERWARDS

Rhys and Rowan have total and complete respect for Feyre and Aelin. They love them, and during both of the series, Rhys and Rowan strive to help them realize their full potential and break free from their feelings of loneliness, depression, and weakness.

Rowan is an elitist warrior, who served a queen who had him whipped, who had to live with his choice of being responsible for his mate and unborn child dying.

He snapped, lost it, completely fucking checked out for over 200 years. TWO. HUNDRED. yEARS. And if that isn’t proof enough that that he’s not all back yet, there’s a SCENE where he tells Aelin that he may never be completely back and she may not either, but he is trying.

If you’re going to call out Rowan, call out Aelin. She slaughtered hundreds of people without a second thought, she has even said that she has a darkness, a rage, that she can’t control. She is a fucking assassin, and how else did you expect Rowan to snap her out of that depression , a person who has lost all touch of humanity, other than being tough with her?

I’m sorry, but he treated her no different than he would any other warrior. She is a queen. She is a fire breathing bitch queen, who has been trained to kill, just as he has. They’re basically one in the same.

And I’m also sorry, but you don’t fucking train someone with flowers and chocolate.
