“All in the past now, yeah? And I made it here! I’ve got all my wonderful friends who have been so very kind. Metro Man and Rex both have said they will make sure he doesn’t find me again.”

Sheldon was doing small, simple tricks in the fountain. Entertaining the youngster as he used to do for his sister, his ward. Jumps. Flips. Dives. 

“Yeah other actors thought the same thing until they actually met me. Also people paid….high for that reason too.”

She didn’t have to watch the child or the fish knowing he would keep the girl safe. 

“And no embarrassment is had here. I do not feel ashamed for my job. Just ashamed about my past that lead me to it. Apparently Detective Rex had a hand in getting me and Sheldon away from….him.”

While Maria and the fish got acquainted, Six turned back to Barbie. “I used to think that as well, but we found out otherwise. And I know several other human-and-blue couples who have children.” He thought of Katelynn and her artist husband, who’d welcomed their first baby in August, and of how Harrison had gotten Ramona pregnant. Not to mention Roxanne and the female Megamind (though, since a magic anon had been involved, that might be a special case). “We all come from different dimensions, though, so our genetics may not all be the same.”

He could tell Barbie was trying to avoid mentioning something inappropriate in front of Maria, and he scanned her mind a little deeper. 

She was … a sex worker? And she…

“Good….”

Barbie almost jumped again at him when he exclaimed her name at that. She smiled nervously but nodded.

“Yeah…yeah I’m that one as you said….My start in such a business wasn’t one of a…well….consensual choice and I just found I was good at it and once I got to a safer environment for it I kinda blossomed.”

She laughed nervously and was grateful when sheldon started to cough. He also was feeling really dry in her hands. 

Since Barbie seemed all right with it, he let Maria get up from the stroller and approach the fish. “Be careful, sweetheart. You need to be gentle with him, understand? Ask before you touch him.” 

Maria gave a solemn nod. While she could sometimes be mischievous, she could tell when her father was serious about the need to listen. “Uh… hi.” She waved again. 

“Pet….please….

Barbie looked up at Six. Surprise visible in her eyes. Damn it was a good thing she always insisted on protection being used in her line of work.

“Woah…really?! I thought those of our kind couldn’t…you know….with them…I mean especially in my profession….before the modeling with Harrison…”

While Maria and the fish got acquainted, Six turned back to Barbie. “I used to think that as well, but we found out otherwise. “I think thats the name I was told. I’ve mainly stayed around Rex, Megamind, Harrison and Metroman.” 

She shrugged. Sheldon moved to the very edge of the fountain. Seeing how intrigued the child was. Magenta fingers dipped into the water and scooped him up gently. She knelt down and held him out. The fish would be alright out of the water for the girl to investigate.

Since Barbie seemed all right with it, he let Maria get up from the stroller and approach the fish. “Be careful, sweetheart. You need to be gentle with him, understand? Ask before you touch him.”

“So many of you blue ones. Almost makes me want to say I’m jealous. Barbie’s been the only hybrid from the home planet to have made it from what we can tell. Though we have heard that there is a red alien around.”

Now that they were closer, he could see the woman’s magenta skin. So, she was an alien too. Not one of the blue people, but her large, bright eyes, pointed ears, and bald head suggested some relation. Intriguing. 

In fact, she looked familiar. But why? I’m sure I’ve never met her before. 

Maria seemed just as fascinated by the strangers. Her little face lit up, and she waved happily. “Hi!” 

Sheldon swam in a small circle.

“You’re doing your best.”

The alien smiled and stood up. She brushed off her knees and held out her hand.

He wheeled the little blue girl’s stroller along the path, letting her take in the sights. Their first stop would be the fountain, which has recently been turned back on for spring. Maybe he could teach her to toss a penny in and make a wish…

There was someone else by the fountain. A woman, it looked like, working on something mechanical. 

Curious, and a little wary, Six approached. He didn’t sense any bad intent from her, but with Maria, he had to be careful. 

“Why, hello there, sir!”

Now that they were closer, he could see the woman’s magenta skin. So, she was an alien too. Not one of the blue people, but her large, bright eyes, pointed ears, and bald head suggested some relation. Intriguing.

“… I suppose I can’t really criticize him for that,” Six admitted in turn. “I did something very similar back in my old dimension, before the facility captured me the second time. I know how it feels not to want to get your friends involved in that kind of danger.” 

He cocked his head. “But, that agency is gone now, isn’t it?” 

She nodded slowly. “We believe it is yes. I mean we searched for a long time to get rid of them.” Scarlet said in a soft tone, her hands rested in her lap she fidgeted a little just remembering the past few years.. It had taken them a while to believe that they really were all gone as well. 

He reached out, laying a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Then they most likely are. You’re good at what you do, Scarlet. I’ve got no doubt you were thorough about making sure they were gone.” 

He didn’t mention any specifics. They both knew what he was talking about. 

“So,” Six asked, edging back to happier topics, “where are you and your family staying? At the old garage?” 

She smiled when she felt his hand, she brought hers up to touch his to let him know she appreciated the gesture. Scarlet looked up she shook her head to his question. “No- no, Fiona’s taken over there. We got a really nice apartment that’s not too far away from here actually.”

Her arms wrapped loosely around his shoulders, the length of her body embracing every part of him. This was heaven, these moments when it was just the two of them, clinging and completely lost in each other. Her thoughts swam lazily in the shared haze of lingering pleasure. ‘You beautiful, perfect man..’ she mused, her thought processes all glowy and stretching, rubbing along and through his like a purring kitten. ‘I don’t deserve you.’ Her cheek nuzzled against his ear in a lazy content motion to match the soft sound she made.

“Please don’t say that.” His lips pressed against her neck, his breath brushing warmly over her skin as he spoke. “Please, don’t ever believe that. You are amazing. Sweet, wonderful, beautiful Alice …” He smiled softly as he continued to murmur endearments into her neck and hair, giving her small, lazy kisses after each one. 

He would have happily kept doing so, and continued to savor the feeling of being so close to her. But his body didn’t feel like cooperating - he could feel his member beginning to withdraw as it softened, and he knew he needed to remove the condom, or things might get messy. 

Giving Alice one last kiss on her temple, he pushed himself up and gently slid out of her. With a few quick motions, he removed and tied up the rubber sheath, and sent it levitating over to the trash can. 

Now that that was taken care of, he gladly pulled Alice back into his arms. 

His sweet words and lazy kisses were like a warm soothing balm on her already languid muscles. If she’d been capable of it, she would have been purring like a dang cat. As it was, she hummed a deep sound against his skin. 

When he pulled away, she stretched and shifted a little on the couch, curling back into his arms as he came back to her. “You know…” She hummed, nuzzling her nose down against the side of his neck as she smiled. “I think I might need to borrow your shirts more often~”

He reached out, laying a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Then they most likely are. You’re good at what you do, Scarlet. I’ve got no doubt you were thorough about making sure they were gone.” 

He didn’t mention any specifics. They both knew what he was talking about.
