Guess where we were? 😟🔫 I took the Whingelets to a local(ish) bird park this morning because big one wanted to see birdies and was quite set on the idea. After a 40min drive we found out that it was closed. Power cut. Typical I suppose. The only place I could think of to go between there and home was soft play. Birdless, yes, but would entertain them and I could place the small one in the toddler area and drink tea like a winner*, right? WRONG. He has decided his new hobby is going down the big slides. Even his big sister does not go down the big slides. My tea went cold. So yea I'm now at home, sitting in the car, the small one is asleep and I think the big one might be too but I'm too scared to look because more than a long blink and I'm looking at an evening with a manic toddler instead of a glass of wine and Bake Off. *If you haven't seen my soft play blog ... http://www.whingewhingewine.co.uk/2016/07/soft-play.html

To prove the point that my two did not look alike as babies I hunted down their passport photos. Not alike, but both like slightly worried thugs. Great pics guys.

Husband was a brave brave man doing the double kid supermarket shop yesterday. No idea why they look that happy. I'm suspecting bribery. Day 5/10 back at work and I've just discovered something I left in the fridge when I suddenly departed is still in there after 14 months off. It went off in January but it's only a drink so I'm thinking I might chance it. Glad they've kept on top of the cleaning rota.

I thought I would share with you the alternative milestone cards I wish I had made. Milestone Cards, if you haven't seen them, are given to baby to hold when they learn to sit, stand and get a tooth, before taking a proud photo for the album. They actually make a lovely gift for an expectant parent, however it would have to be one more organised and observant than myself.
