One of our fellow tumblrs, Whimsical Weeping Creatures is an underground Hungarian lofi bedroom skramz/DSBM.

Their current discography consists of one EP and one single, both released in 2024.

Whimsical Weeping Creature's whole discography is filled with raw, lo-fi productions that pulls the listener in, a touch uncomfortable. That's the thing with most DSBM inspired works--it's meant to be raw; it's meant to invoke deep hidden emotions, and Whimsical Weeping Creatures has done just that. Their tracks are wonderfully melodic yet there's a clearly distinguishable edge to it.

+Demo+:

Perfect length, long enough to establish an atmosphere and still short enough to draw the listener in and not bore them. The first track '+intro+' starts off the EP in a melodic way, creating a brooding atmosphere that builds up in future tracks. Throughout the track there are light and whimsical components that clash with the deep drone; almost giving a backrooms vibe. This track is dreamlike yet dark, creating a perfect atmosphere to build upon in later tracks. 'Daydream' starts off light but soon screeching voices appear, anguished as they speak of their suffering. Through the sparse lyrics a picture is painted; one many can relate to, of a need for catharsis, an escape from life. Dark in subject, this track continues the pattern of light notes bouncing rhythmically in the track, the dreamlike state continues. 'Outrun the Devil' is more cryptic lyrically, this track is heavier, the heavy vocals continue but instead of lighter and lo-fi music, this track turns towards black/dsbm. It's a welcomed change, merging organically within the previous 2 tracks. 'corpse of a core memory' is the lightest and most melodic track so far, starting off very soft and slowly crescendoing. The softness of the song encourages the feeling of vulnerability along with lyrics alluding to missing the past, perhaps childhood where everything was simpler, perhaps a happy memory, anyhow; nothing is the same now and the vocals screech painfully, in mourning. Last track 'ribcage lullaby' starts off the softest, akin to a lullaby but soon the same anguished vocals follow suit and then, it suddenly becomes more aggressive. The lyrics in this track can be understood in many ways; love so dedicated one wants be digested; a more metaphorical way of cohesion; suicide? This tracks ends the EP with the last 30 seconds of decrescendo; slowly withering.

TUTELTEARZ:

A track that is on the heavier side of their discography but still remnants of the lo-fi melodic side remains. TUTELTEARZ is painfully real, the scratchy production pulls the listener in. The lyrics speak of pain and love; it could be understand that the speaker is in mental or physical pain 'I don't even know who is it under this all' can be understood as not knowing oneself. Slowly withering away into anxiety or depression loosing grasp of reality as it is known. Nevertheless, the second half of the lyrics infer a yearning for someone, most likely a lover that the speaker says 'I'll just listen every beat and dream something for you'. Perhaps through their pain the speaker needs a lover to love them or for them to love someone, a place to put the good of the world in. Contrastingly, this track could be very metaphorical and speaks nothing of what I have inferred; that's the beauty in art.
