Shamrock nuclei in Adult T-cell Lymphomas 

Lymphomas are the most common type of blood cancer. A T-cell lymphoma is a blood cell cancer that affects the T-lymphocytes of the blood. These cancerous lymphocytes grow and multiply uncontrollably. They can then travel to many parts of the body via blood vessels and lymphatics where they can form a tumor.

Adult T-cell lymphoma is a rare type of T-cell lymphoma that is linked to infection by a virus called human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 1 (or HTLV-1 for short). Less than 5% of those infected with the virus will actually develop a lymphoma and there is currently no way of predicting who will or who won’t develop a lymphoma. The virus is thought to be transmitted through sexual contact or by exposure to contaminated blood, however, most often it transmitted by an infected mother to her baby while breastfeeding.

Affected T-cells often have a characteristic lumpy, convoluted “cerebriform nucleus” - because it looks like a brain. 

But i think they look more like shamrocks  ☘ ☘ ☘ ☘ ☘ ☘ ☘
