I just heard Dabi’s English dub and had a fucking aneurysm WHY DOES HE SOUND LIKE THAT NO WONDER PPL HC HIM AS A SMOKER WHAT THE FUCUSKCKDJFJVNCB HE SOUNDS LIKE HES HAD A PACK A DAY FOR TEN FUCKING YEARS 😭😭😭😭😭

This is why I reference their JP voices in fics the Eng Dub NEVER aligns with how I assumed they’d sound. Except for Himiko. Her Eng VA kills it every time

I remember way back when I watched season 1 for the first time in dub after watching the sub I was so. Fucking confused with what they did with Shigaraki’s voice. Like his JP voice is so pretty and soft and nice to listen to and then his Eng sounds like he swallowed sandpaper and spends 90% of his time lurking incel Reddit pages. Absolute blasphemy

Okay I listened to a different clip of dub Dabi and it sounds a lot better and a lot more like what I’d imagined he’d sound like. Idk if the first clip I listened to just had bad direction or a different context or whatever else I just remember thinking that his voice sounding GRATING and that I hated it 😭 but I will admit it’s not as bad as I thought….

I still hate Tomura’s dub though

Am I just ungrateful or do comments that are just emojis or emoticons annoy other authors too like… I love reading what ppl have to say abt my fics so when I get excited about an email only to see the comment is “❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️” I just kinda wilt

You absolutely aren’t. Some authors love them, some others don’t, and some (like you) are annoyed or discouraged by it. That’s perfectly fine!

It could be worth leaving a note to that end, IF you decide you’d prefer no comments to just emojis. One of my very favourite authors has just that sort of note!

Yeah I think I’ll start adding a note at the on my chapters… I’ve been considering it for awhile but I was always worried about it coming off as rude or ungrateful, but atp I’d rather get no comments at all than have my hopes dashed when I open my email :’3
