i completely understand & agree with the backlash against students using chatgpt to get degrees but some of you are out here saying "getting a degree in xyz means pulling multiple consecutive all-nighters and writing essays through debilitating migraines and having severe back pain from constantly studying at your desk and chugging energy drinks until you get a kidney stone and waking up wishing you were dead every day, and that's just part of the natural process of learning!!!" and like. umm. i don't think that any of us should have had to endure that either. like maybe the solution for stopping students from using anti-learning software depends on college institutions making the process of learning actually sustainable on the human body & mind rather than a grueling health-destroying soul-crushing endeavor

[“As a practitioner and teacher of conflict transformation and somatic shadow integration working primarily within a social change and activist context, I’m often confronted with the question of whether trying to move beyond polarized ways of thinking and act from a politic of revolutionary love is a betrayal of my other values. Many of my students and readers worry, and understandably so, that the foundational ideas of conflict transformation, depolarization, and radical love might inevitably lead us to make unethical compromises, or to lose sight of important truths.
To put it more plainly, famed anti-apartheid activist Bishop Desmond Tutu said that “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, then you have chosen the side of the oppressor,” and the risk that many activists feel when we center ideas like “radical compassion,” “revolutionary love,” and “transformative justice,” is that these ideas open the door to neutrality that supports oppression. The fear is that loving everyone means that we don’t take sides, and in not taking sides, what we are really doing is supporting the violence of the status quo.
This is a central tension inside of social justice-oriented communities - which also tend to deeply value love and compassion, not to mention the political goals of prison and police abolition - and as a social movement mediator, I see it articulated again and again in almost every activist organization I work with. Here are some common examples of questions that people ask me about this topic:
Doesn’t making space for multiple perspectives/multiple truths support the spread of harmful ideas?
Does working to “depolarize” intense ideological conflicts turn us into centrists - and cause us to betray the most oppressed groups? Is depolarization just compromising and saying “let’s agree to disagree” about atrocities? Does depolarization lead us into making false equivalencies - such as saying that the anxiety of privileged people over losing unfair advantages is equal to the harms experienced by oppressed populations?
Does acknowledging that perpetrators of harm are also often victims of harm who have their own needs justify the suffering they have caused and de-center the voices of the people they’ve hurt?
Does saying that people who have experienced oppression or violence can also commit oppression or violence (“hurt people hurt people” etc), are you accusing oppressed people of being “the same as the oppressors”? Isn’t this victim-blaming?
These are extremely sensitive questions that are born of legitimate concerns, and indeed, I believe that the rhetoric of “love,” “transformative justice/conflict transformation,” “non-dual thinking,” “multiple truths,” and so on can certainly be used to excuse, disguise, or exacerbate violence, abuse, and exploitation. However, I also believe this is the result of a serious misunderstanding, or sometimes even the willful corruption, of the ideas that I hold so dear.”]

rape, but they're so sweet and so soft to you and can't stop whispering praises into your ear that eventually you get confused and your eyes glaze over and you just give in and realize how good it feels<3

and here's something i never expected to have to say (even though all of my friends would)
that i don't know how to write about the sweetness of your blood--]
i've been collecting mine + my loved ones bodily fluids in tiny zines + being so very intensely cliche about it + here's what a page looks like because i enjoy how this is also my diary
ID: [image of a small zine held in hand, open on a page that's smeared with blood and reads "χμμ και να κάτι που δεν περίμενα ποτέ να έχω να πω (ενώ θα το περίμεναν όλα μου τα φίλα) ότι δεν ξέρω πώς να γράψω για το πόσο γλυκό είναι το αίμα σου". End of ID[
