I really feel like this song isn't getting enough credit. She's exploring a side of guilt that we haven't seen much before. She shows how much she cares about this person by choosing to not say some things that may hurt him (like "who uses typewriters anyway") and rides out his highs with him, helping him fall asleep and supporting him after he wakes up the next morning. Even though his addiction obviously affected her greatly as seen in the rest of the album, she does these things because she loves him so much. Although this cycle hurts her so much every time they go through it, she's always there for him. She knows that he needs someone. She feels a sense of responsibility for him and worries what would happen if she were to leave ("you told Lucy you'd kill yourself if I ever leave").

I really don't understand what's "hilarious" about all of the pain shown throughout this album.
