1.  A NEW PLOT, instead of going through each details of the first season and discredit them. I just spent 13 hours wondering why did I watch the previous first 13. And that feels like being played, hm. You cannot call yourself “Reasons why” and then proceed to invalidate yourself. So, even though that relationship with Zach was dreamier than an shampoo add, it was so obviously not thought through during S1 that it’s forced me to emotionally disconnect, since apparently the emotions I felt during S1 were not valid… Instead, it would have been definitely smarter to develop a new plot, moving ON FROM what happened and not tediously go through everything AGAIN;

2. decent HAIRSTYLES. for everybody, not just the wig-wearers. What’s up with the “top bigger than sides” haircut of almost the entire male cast ?? Not THAT big, dudes ! It’s starting to look like the size of an entire other face on your own head. Why Clay is the one being called ‘helmet’ when he is precisely the only one without this haircut ?

3. family credibility. what about adding some SIBLINGS ? They’re all one child, except if convenient, but even then, the sibling barely exists: a) Zach’s sister suddenly shows her face for 2 seconds, b) no one can possibly believe that mackenzie and cyrus are related, c) Chloe’s sister is only brought up at court as a sick manipulative reason for her to talk to do justice for Hannah without actually having her join the group or anyone genuinely caring about her. And maybe, real PARENTING PARENTS ?

5. CREDITS to (500) days of summer for that bench shot. I may have missed more, but it’s sadly difficult to type “13 reasons why + copycat” on Google and get results about cinematography;

6. more Courtney and more mini-Rihanna. Where were they ?? Now that Courtney’s out, her subplot is this blatantly not developed that when we hear her voice, she introduces her girlfriend or talks about her randomly at the Monet’s random party after the random memorial. And also, I’m sick of all the make-up tutorials (can we really make as many things with our faces as there are make-up tutorials, or are they just trying to make us buy stuff ??), and additionally, I’m not Black, but I most definitely would follow anything Sheri says if she ever posts one. But seriously,why isn’t she at the police station when Jessica deposits ?

7. some chill about Hannah’s name spelling that takes an H at the beginning. Maybe it’s due to the binge-watching, or it’s an acting thing to suggest sadness because she is dearly missed, but it honestly started to sound like “Rhannah”. Rhannah Baker.

8.  SUBTLETY in dialogues - some really felt like it was the authors directly addressing the audience, like through Mr. Porter and during Mrs. Baker speech about the reasons ” why not”. Could you please use this self-awareness for a better use ?? 

9.  Consideration, nay, BENEVOLENCE for its target audience. Shock is not edge, rape is not a plot device; this thing is simply harmful. 

10. Pets - even Marvel and DC cinematic universe have pets in them. (honestly, i can’t possibly know but I’m sure that’s true) so why not here ? And, when not killed for dramatic effects, they make everything better;
