1. in this au vampires still age like normal (different from buffy) so that eddie doesn’t stay a young adult forever while steve gets old and dies

2. i think it would be interesting if eddie became a vampire as a kid and has spent his whole life as a vampire (metaphor for queerness, you get it.) and has some kind of night life (like in buffy) so he could still run the dnd club once its dark out, get tattoos, be in a band, generally have had other things to do besides being in the upside down, and everyone just thinks he’s a high school drop out from out of town or something which would still fit his character. this would also make the lyric “i died so many years ago” still fit without making the fic be super post canon (we’ll get to why i want that later…although maybe you have a vision in which case i wont get in your way)

3. being a vampire would be an upside down thing because im *personally* not that interested in a buffy au for steddie as much as a This Song au for steddie. do with that what you will, be creative, go crazy

4. i don’t know much about dnd and i don’t know if this au would still fit the kas the betrayer concept but i like the idea of him working for vecna and its like an evil-overlord-adoptive-parent-who’s-manipulative-and-doesn’t-really-care-for-you-but-then-you-befriend-the-good-guys-and-they-teach-you-what-genuine-love-and-family-looks-like-and-you-betray-the-evil-overlord-hooray trope. (you get it)

5. everything fron season 4 would basically stay the same just at the end of season four when they fail to defeat vecna, in this au it’s actually because eddie was working for vecna the whole time and they learn he betrayed them and is a vampire. then after that in basically what would be season five, steve keeps going out by himself to find eddie, at first to like, kill him or get answers out of him or something, but then over time they end up just talking which is where the song Rest in Peace from the hit television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer would finally be relevant!!!

6. i don’t know how wayne fits into all of this but i think he should be part of eddies happy ending in this fic. be creative.
