I'm starting to think I have fundamentally different ways of understanding tlw characters to the fandom that I'm worrying that I may have misinterpreted the entirety of the film

I can't take some discussions of the long walk characters seriously, because some people talk about the walkers like they're normal guys who are just on a walk and not like. Angry and depressed / explicitly suicidal young men living in a world where getting shot to death on the street and extreme poverty is normalised and even celebrated.
