Iāve seen memes saying thatĀ āSansa is the only Stark sibling that didnāt level upā. And it made me SOOO mad. First of all, did you even watch earlier seasons?? An innocent girl who was āguardedā by her father from the awfulness of the world, who dreamt only about getting married to a king, is now a responsible, wise and competent leader, without a man at her side - how the fuck is that not impressive, especially after all the shit sheās been through?? How is that not āleveling upā?? Also, DESPITE the shit sheās been through, she still remains emotional, loving and warm. She didnāt get bitter or distant, she didnāt hide in an emotional shell to guard herself from all the negative emotions, she didnāt get grinded or broken by her traumas - and may I remind you she was physically and mentally abused, she lived in a constant terror for years, and was raped. She still has so much love inside, which is NOT an easy thing to do. Fuck people who cannot see or appreciate strength that ISNāT about physical stamina, sword skills or fulfilling fanboys fantasies about ass kicking tomboys. Strength which is a combination of feminine energy, perseverance and wisdom. Strength which doesnāt shy away from violence, if needed (e.g. Ramsayās death), but doesnāt shy away from love either.Ā
Itās part of the patriarchy present in pop-culture fandoms that Iām honestly SO sick of. Fuck you, people. Team Sansa all the way. She has levelled up big time, she learnt how to play the game, and remains one of the most valuable advisors at Winterfell, the one who can use her power to save everyone (e.g. getting Knights of the Vale). At least Jon Snow sees her strength and wisdom and appreciates it, even if itās not easy to him sometimes. And thatās how true men see women and partner up with them.
