Kit Harington and Peter Dinklage reunite for the first time since 'Game of Thrones' concluded on HBO seven years ago.
A recent conversation between Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) and Kit Harrington (Jon Snow).
It's rather long, but here's a bit of it.
Peter Dinklage: There’s nothing worse than an actor complaining, but Spain was very hot, and I often would raise my hand going, “If Tyrion’s so smart, why is he wearing these clothing in this 100 degree weather?” Kit Harington: Do you remember we had those cold vests? PD: Yeah, the tubes that ran through. KH: And an ice thing you’d plug in. PD: I was like, “No, thank you,” for a week. I was like, “I’m going to suffer.” And then at the end I was like, “No way,” because everybody else was nodding off because they felt so comfortable. Rory [McCann, who played The Hound] especially. Jesus Christ. He was under a lot of stuff. What you said about that arc is really fascinating. Starting from A, going to Z, and they’re a completely different character. To have [Jaime Lannister] push a little kid out the window and then later on you love him — it’s just fascinating to me. That’s the epitome of our show. He tries to kill a kid, and he’s a hero later. That’s how complicated narrative can be.
The official trailer for House of the Dragon Season 3.
It's dark.
« I always thought that my comedy writing sensibility was like, ’30 Rock’ meets ‘The West Wing, but then I rewatched ‘Seinfeld’ for the first time in a long time. I stole a lot of stuff. There’s a lot of sarcasm, and a lot of personalities. You run it through your processor, and this other thing comes out. Obviously, we’re in the ‘Game of Thrones’ world. There’s a lot that we drew on visually. [Michael] Fassbender’s ‘Macbeth’ was a big one for us. I love the big historical epics that they don’t make anymore. I wanted, for our budget, for us to get as much scale as we possibly could by having the camera hang back in long, wide shots, and letting the action play out. »
— A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms showrunner Ira Parker on some of the things which influenced his thinking regarding the series. From IndieWire.
That Seinfeld reference made me think that we could some day see a Westerosi equivalent of the Soup Nazi.

A recap of House of the Dragon Season 2 as told by Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) and Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy).
Season 3 begins on June 21st (June 22nd in the Eastern Hemisphere).
Game of Thrones: The Mad King announces its full cast for the world premiere at the RSC, Stratford-upon-Avon.
The cast for the Royal Shakespeare Company's summer production of Game of Thrones: The Mad King has been announced.
There are a couple of cast photos along with a list of actors and characters. From looking at the photos, I predict that some bigotry by ethnopurist idiots will probably ensue.
In addition to cast, production crew are mentioned. This is going to be quite a production. In addition to the more typical theatrical positions are...
Fight Director
Intimacy Director
Composer
Dialect
Because it takes place at a tournament, the fight director is not all that unexpected. But apparently there will be GoT style nudity, live music, and appropriate accents for the characters. This is a considerable undertaking.

« This has been a four-year quest of mine to make this episode…It's for the fans to decide what they think of the episode creatively, but just in terms of the chunk that we bit off and what we had to build, it was a big, ambitious thing. And it was something, I think, only HBO would really, in this world, take on. It just took a little bit to get there where we could actually approach this thing and do it practically. »
— House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal on the filming of the Battle of the Gullet for Season 3. From Entertainment Weekly.
In terms of production, this battle sounds like it's on a par with the Battle of Winterfell which took weeks to film.
Remember how Margaery Tyrell played Joffrey like a lute in S03E02? This vid examines that scene more closely. We get a better appreciation for the acting skills of Natalie Dormer and Jack Gleeson.

The Isokyrö-based Kyrö Distillery will produce two Game of Thrones-themed whiskies — called Fire and Blood — as part of the deal.
A distillery in Finland will begin producing rye whisky with a Game of Thrones theme.
I don't recall characters from the three series drinking whisky. Certainly wine, ale, mead, and fermented mare's milk (yo, Tormund).
Anyway, the Kyrö Distillery will produce TWO whiskies called Whisky of Fire and Whisky of Blood.
Finnish craft distilling firm the Kyrö Distillery Company has signed a deal with the US entertainment giant Warner Bros to produce two Game of Thrones-themed rye whiskies. The distiller, based in the municipality of Isokyrö in the west of Finland, is renowned for making its spirits exclusively from 100% Finnish wholegrain rye. [ ... ] Kyrö's two-year deal with Warner Bros will lead to the production of two different GoT-themed whiskies — one called 'Whisky of Fire' and the other labelled 'Whisky of Blood'.
Here's what the labels will look like.
The Targaryen reference and the two-year deal seem to coincide with Seasons 3 and 4 of House of the Dragon. If Kyrö wished to take that a step further, they could have placed a green sigil on one and a black one on the other variety.
[ Lord Cregan Stark ]
experimental design, i like how it turned out. Come home Cregan, your 11 kids miss you.
We won't be seeing him in Season 3. So here's some fan art of Lord Cregan Stark.
Cregan will almost certainly be seen in Season 4.
Game of Thrones' Hannah Murray had psychotic episode during time in wellness cult, was rushed to hospital
This is scary. Hannah Murray (Gilly) was lured into a cult which caused her to have a psychotic breakdown.
Hannah Murray is reflecting on her traumatic time spent living in a cult. The English actress, best known for portraying Gilly in Game of Thrones, detailed being drawn into a wellness cult in her late 20s in a new interview on Saturday in support of her upcoming book, The Make-Believe: A Memoir of Magic and Madness. "It's easy to go, 'Well, that would never happen to me,' but we do ourselves a disservice when we start saying that, because you don't know," Murray told The Guardian of her intense experience. "I had no idea I was going to go through any of the things in the book. I would've assumed I couldn't, that I was safe. I was well educated, from a middle-class family; everything should have been fine. I thought, 'I'm smart. I make good choices.' Well, I made terrible choices." [ ... ] Murray explained that she was originally drawn to an "energy healer," whom the article refers to as Grace, who helped her process the difficulty of shooting 2017's Detroit though a $150 "healing" session. The session was a positive one, which led Murray to a mystical class that in turn led to more classes with more members of the organization. "I wanted to go further and further, as far as you could go," the actress said. She eventually met the man at the top of the group, whom the article refers to as Steve. "He exuded power in a way I had never known anyone to exude it," she said. "Magical power … I knew I was in the presence of a magician." [ ... ] The worst moment came when she was attending a five-day course in a London hotel. She was talking at "a million miles a second," seeing signs and symbols everywhere, and feeling incredibly happy. One night, Murray found herself hallucinating and hearing Steve's voice in her head. She recalled taking refuge in a locked bathroom and experiencing a painful psychotic episode in which she felt like she was "giving birth through my skull." Members of the organization then surrounded the stall with bronze tools, chanting, "Be gone, evil spirit in Hannah." Someone eventually called for help, and after she was pinned to the floor by a group of men in uniform, she was rushed to Gordon hospital in Bloomsbury, London, where she was detained for 28 days under the Mental Health Act.
She's fine now and wrote a book to warn others about such groups.
Murray was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder and has now retired from acting. "I hear so much, 'We need to talk more about mental health,'" she said in the interview. "What they mean is, like, anxiety and depression. We're all happy to talk about that. But there's such a taboo around the idea of people who are sectioned. They are beyond the pale." "It felt really important to say, 'I went through this,'" she added. "Lots of people go through this. That doesn't mean they are bad or f---ed up forever."
Hannah's book will be published on June 23rd.
« People talk about the ‘it’ factor and things like that — but she just has this dimensional quality that is not something that you can learn as an actor. There’s just a natural grace and charisma. We just knew in the first meeting with her that this is our Rhaenyra.” »
— House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal on choosing Milly Alcock to portray the younger version of Rhaenyra Targaryen. Quoted at Variety.

« I shot Game of Thrones in Ireland. I found the Northern Irish to be the nicest people I’ve ever been around. »
— Pedro Pascal quoted by the Belfast Telegraph.
Northern Ireland has undergone a renaissance over the past few decades. Communal violence ended with an enduring peace agreement in the late 1990s. It is now a holiday destination and a favorite spot for film and TV production.
Being nice himself, getting such praise from Pedro Pascal is a notable mark of approval.
