Guardsmen walked the walls, and knights and men-at-arms were training with blunted weapons. Nearby, Bronn sat on the lip of a well. A pair of comely serving girls sauntered past carrying a wicker basket of rushes between them, but the sellsword never looked. “Bronn, I despair of you.” Tyrion gestured at the wenches. “With sweet sights like that before you, all you see is a gaggle of louts raising a clangor.” “There are a hundred whorehouses in this city where a clipped copper will buy me all the cunt I want,” Bronn answered, “but one day my life may hang on how close I’ve watched your louts.” He stood. “Who’s the boy in the checkered blue surcoat with the three eyes on his shield?” “Some hedge knight. Tallad, he names himself. Why?” Bronn pushed a fall of hair from his eyes. “He’s the best of them. But watch him, he falls into a rhythm, delivering the same strokes in the same order each time he attacks.” He grinned. “That will be the death of him, the day he faces me.”
A Clash of Kings- Chapter 17 (George R. R. Martin)
While Jon and Sam's friendship is very genuine and wholesome it's contrasted like immediately by Tyrion and Bronns sorta kinda friendship that's developing in that next chapter after Jon fights for Sam to be a steward.
They are really interesting because it's based on a mutual respect and understanding. They both see this for exactly as transactional as it is and they are perfectly ok with it. In fact I think both the characters prefer the stability of the dynamic.
They both compliment eachother is ways that relate them back to something they respect.
Bronns to sellswords like himself, "You're bold as any sellsword, I'll give you that,".
Then Tyrion to his brother Jaime, "With a sword in your hand you're almost as good as my brother Jaime,".
One of the lines that makes me most certain Tyrion is more comfortable in this dynamic is that he says, "Why then, I'll have one mourner whose grief is sincere... the gold ends when I do,". Tyrion is not someone who really thinks anyone will give a shit about him even as he is being kidnapped, so in this way the transactional relationship guarantees a security that none of his other relationships can.
Then there's the fact he offers to match the price if Bronn is tempted to sell him out, he's fully comfortable even to the point of being willing to risk this.
To me it also seems like this is the most open we have seen Tyrion be with someone when he tells the story of how he lost his virginity. He talks a lot with Jon but it's not the same. It's also very different to Jon and Sam, while both of them share something emotional with each other only Tyrion shares something with Bronn. Because he is the one paying for this relationship. While Tyrion does get an emotional connection out of this it is more one sided (though I don't think entirely).
In a way both the friendship between Jon and Sam vs Tryion and Bronn share a common idea of making the other person secure where they are at in their position. Sam and Sam give eachother the security of brotherhood and physical safety from Jon. Which makes them feel at home with the Nights Watch. Tyrion gives security in the form of money and Bronn in physical safety. This keeps Tyrion alive and in a lord like position with it being built off his reputation as a Lannister. Bronn is respected and understood for what he is as a sellsword.
"My pardons... but you are scum, Bronn, make no mistake. Duty, honor, friendship, what's that to you? No, don't trouble yourself, we both know the answer,".
I think these chapters being back to back and the way Jon values what he thinks Tyrion would believe about Sam really just make me want to compare them.

A small UK village is home to a Game of Thrones star and is the ideal gateway to explore some of the most beautiful parts of the nation's co
Jerome Flynn, last seen on GoT as Lord Bronn of the Reach, now lives in a part of Wales whose natural scenery would not look out of place in Westeros. He also had a singing career during the Britpop era of the 1990s.
Tucked near the Pembrokeshire coast in west Wales is the charming village of Llanrhian, home to fewer than 900 people, according to the 2021 census. It's compact, with cottages, a stone-built watermill, Melin Llanrhian, and the grade II-listed St. Rhian's Church, offering a quiet, rural escape in the heart of the Welsh countryside. Yet its proximity to the coast is perhaps one of the settlement's most appealing features. And with holiday homes dotted around the area, it's undoubtedly used as a gateway to explore the stunning terrain of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, with golden sand beaches, rugged cliffs and scenic coastal walking routes stretching across 186 miles. So it's no wonder that Game of Thrones star Jerome Flynn decided to call Llanrhian home and have these picturesque vistas right on his doorstep. The actor, 63, who played Bronn in the hit HBO series, is originally from Bromley, but after moving to the tiny village, is said to be actively involved in the tight-knit community when he's not on the small screen.
