I know we all want our Loustat kiss but can I just say that this entire season has been brutal for Lestat. Louis has his own issues and pain but if we focus on Lestat for a moment, he has been used, abused and “defiled”. He is not defiled but he thinks he is. And he keeps getting used and abused every episode. His trauma just keeps repeating. If he is not having horrific flashbacks he is getting drugged, kissed when he is completely out of it, his mother keeps abusing him. We can see him spiraling. But then we get to episode 6 and it’s just pure. He is not drugged up, he is not half naked “performing”, he is in a cozy home with his best friend making him laugh. Then we get to the moment where everyone finds out about him and his mother. He is in full panic mode so much so that he starts to throw up. He knew it was wrong but the fact that it’s out there and Louis, Louis of all people NOW knows. He is utterly afraid that he is truly disgusting to him know so he tries to justify it. He can’t even breathe. And Louis seeing what is happening, now knows this was done TO him not something that he wanted truly. So he does something Lestat has never had before, he gives him comfort and says he is sorry while holding him and does not expect anything in return. I think Armand and Daniel wanted to harm Lestat with that video, and where thinking Louis would leave and Lestat would spiral again. But that did not happen. Instead we have Louis comforting him and asking him about it without pushing him. And the most beautiful thing, after finding out about it he asks Lestat for his blood. That speaks volumes. He doesn’t see Lestat defiled or tainted, damaged. That is the person he loves most in the world. And that small kind act must have ment so much for Lestat. Not only did Louis comfort him when he realized what was happening but he asked for his blood. The blood from the monster Lestat think he is and showing he enjoys his blood more than anything. So yeah. The kiss would be lovely by the last episode. But this entire episode shows how much different Louis is to anyone else. And it shows why Lestat is inlove with him. And why they are it for each other. I know we have a road ahead of us but there is no doubt who Lestat’s great love is. It’s the person who loves him for him and comforts him. And can I just add. Lestat is not used to people staying besides him without wanting something in exchange, sex, affection etc. But Louis, can stay with him as a friend and just be with him. Sit with him. He does not desire sex from Lestat in exchange for things. Sex for them was always them wanting each other. It was never a give and take situation like everyone else have done to Lestat. So yeah. That episode was everything to me. And I love that Lestat is so vulnerable with Louis. We don’t see that side to him with anyone else.
