This is Robert Heron and his sister Jessie. Robert inherited the Fife Pottery in Kirkcaldy, the birth pottery of Wemyss Ware. Robert travelled to Bohemia to find the skilful artist Karel Nekola and brought him back to Fife and the rest is history📜

This is Karel Nekola, the painter and designer who started it all. He was a Bohemian who was brought over to Fife in around 1882 to work at the Fife Pottery in Kirkcaldy. Karel designed the original patterns such as the renowned Cabbage Rose that we paint today🌹
