Going on an overnighter!
This weekend a couple of my friends and I are going on a short overnighter trial run, preparing for a 2 week long cycling adventure in the Washington Cascades.Â
Feel the stadium shake!

Bday
Cooking class and F.C. København vs Red Star Belgrade. Heart breaker. 2-2, 6-7 on penalties to Belgrade.
Copenhagen Cont.
I was like. . . wut? Danish Design Museum.
Some sunny days and swimming in the canal. Look at all these unfortunate people living in a welfare state in which 2/3rds of the populace work for the government. They look so... miserable and purposeless without decent and well-meaning corporations to drive productivity and innovation...
But I mean, look at these chairs!
Chairs...
Chairs...
Chairs...
First Days in Copenhagen
Just a totally normal Danish sign.
Cutie!
Some great writing spots at local libraries.Â
So, that might look like just a guy putting a bike on the back of a car, which it is. But the woman who called him owns the bike, and the guy is a taxi driver, and when he saw she had a bike, he just grabbed his bike rack out of his taxi, loaded up her bike, and off they went.
Then we hit up the Museum of Danish Design. Below, you can see some sweet album covers.
And Haruki Murakami novels
And... the iMac?
...and
The Macintosh Plus? Yup, these were designed by the Danish designers!
This is a room full of chairs. Kyla loves chairs. I like sitting in chairs. We have a lot in common.

Still, human weather brought out something we’d experienced before. Bugs.
It starts with just a couple. Some strange static on your arm hair, so subtle you think it’s nothing. The. You feel it on your face and chest, a little tickling. By the time you look down at your arms hundreds of tiny flies have lodged themselves in your armchair, my beard. It’s awful. We’d been a little shaking on our rides over the last couple days. So we had a heart to heart and this is what we decided!
The Last Day
Just hadn’t taken a pic of these lovely beasts in a while.
Our campsite was on a harbor that night. Little did we know, it would be our last night camping.
We had the whole place to ourselves.
And a little clubhouse to hang out in.
We even grilled some burgs.Â
The next morning we hit the road in order to catch an unexpected ferry.
I mean, look how cute it is. Turns out, it’s a historic monument.Â
Mostly built of wood.
About 60 miles from Copenhagen. The day was muggy beyond belief, and the air was very still.Â
Misc Pics from Kyla No. 2
This was our campsite on Aero. Super beautiful, with clear water to swim in. And a little jetty.
(Above) However, the site quickly turned into tent city.
(Above) Just a nice home on Aero.
(Below) Sunset from our camp spot on Aero.
Misc Pics from Kyla
Kyla has a much better eye than I do, and the patience to edit her photos. Below are a bunch of misc pics.
I know, I need a shave.
(Below) But look at that hat!
(Above and Below) is the little ferry we took from Spodsbjerg to Taars.
(Above and below) we just happened by this crazy mansion. We think it has something to do with the Danish Royal Family but really have no idea.Â
(Below) That pic is mine, bet you could tell.
This is a view looking out form a bridge in Svenborg
Leaving Flensburg for Beaches
This is just some nice Antifa or (anti-fascist) stuff I found as we were leaving Flensburg. This stuff was all over the city. Not to get too political on you, but multiple GOP members in the US, have labeled Antifa a “terrorist organization” for their intolerance of white supremacists and their anti-nazi views.Â
(Below) Rolling out of Flensburg.
(Above) We camped in the woods, but just to the left of this pick as a small trail that led to a beach.
Here’s that beach. I went out to the end of the jetty and jumped in, but could only stay in for a couple minutes (or less) it was so cold.
The next day we made for Aero. Aero is a small island, very much like one of the San Juan Islands. As you can see below, a whole chain of cyclists had the same idea. (Fun Fact No. 1: a large group of touring cyclists is called “a chain”). (Fun Fact No. 2: I just made that up).
