Fate can't be decided by somebody.

Those who die have goals and dreams. But everyone has something as important as those. Parents, siblings, friends, lovers...people who are important to each other. They trust and help each other. The bond between the people important to you ever since birth and the string that binds them becomes thicker and stronger as time goes by. It's beyond reason. Those bound to you by that string will do that because it's important.

When someone who accepts you from the bottom of their heart appears, that person should be the most important person to you.

Do you know the point of living without a dream?  Knowing you’re not needed by anyone?

I hated discussion classes. I hated talking, and I hated listening to everyone else stumble in their words or try to phrase things in the vaguest possible way so they wouldn't sound dumb, and I hated how it was all just a game of trying to figure out what the teacher wanted to hear and then saying it.

No, my lord, I mean to set them to sewing lacy smallclothes.  Of course they shall be trained at arms.

If you have a dream, don't wait.  Act.

Dying is not dead.

There's much to be said for being one-handed.  I drink less wine for fear of spilling and am seldom inclined to scratch my arse at court.

You know, if you write in a troubled part of the world, everything is interpreted allegorically. If I wrote a story about a mother, a father and their daughter, a critic would say that the father represents the government, the mother, the old values, and the daughter the shattered economy! If Moby-Dick was written in South America today under the name of Vargas Llosa, people would say it is about dictatorship. If it were written in South Africa by Nadine Gordimer, it would be interpreted as the conflict between the blacks and the whites. In Russia the whale would be Stalin, in the Middle East the novel would be about Israelis chasing Palestinians or vice versa. So that is the price you pay for writing in a trouble spot. But I always start with a group of characters. Then they tell their story. I never wrote a political allegory, or a novel of ideas.

When you are doing special things, you must wear special clothes.

Vanishing without ever being defeated sounds like the apt thing to do.

Indifference and neglect often do much more damage than outright dislike.
