that conversation was perfect. it was THE perfect set-up for the actual talk they need to have. blake now knows for a fact there are still unresolved issues between them that yang can’t pretend to be fine about any longer. it was the first hint to blake that there’s a fundamental misunderstanding on her end about why yang’s hurt - it’s not because blake couldn’t protect her from adam, or that she lost part of herself to him, it’s that blake wasn’t around to help her afterward. and yang’s too wrapped up in her own emotional turmoil to recognize blake said “i’ll protect you” because she blames herself for not being able to do so last time. oh my god. oh my god. it was perfect. when they finally crack and have the actual conversation none of will survive
