A New Light
Do you guys like my portrait of Simon? Think I got his nose right? /silly
I was inspired by deadlymelodic's concept images of the Light and the Blood Tree, along with my theory that the Light is a disembodied human soul. It wasn't meant for us to see, right?
Riffing off of a BTS storyboard scene where Simon's conscious being explodes into a ball of fire, I utilized the same colors that made him up (that being orange, purple and teal.) Here are some gifs I made!
I am obsessed with the "stick people" clinging to the blood tree. I've always interpreted them as Simon's victims and those he lost; the people he placed into his soul and tried to move on from with them dragging behind. I took a little creative liberty and decided to surround the new light with orbiting blood! I also used pictures of steak for the blood ocean surface texture, and based the formation around the new light off of a quasar.
