this is my take on the gender unicorn "chart." full version to be posted soon. I have alternative versions too, so you can color the unicorn how you want!
I made this with the help of the Mlp Luna-Alicorn base by LunaApple on DeviantArt. I know they say you shouldn't trace but the base was free to use. it still took some time to get it right tbh adding the details of everything. I might remove the credit (oops) but ofc I'll still credit them in the
I'm lowkey proud of it :p I respect the original creators of the gender unicorn but this is my take on it. I'm open to suggestions, ideas, criticism. if this isn't your thing that's cool.
I replaced a couple sections with an open space to write words or notes. so like you have more freedom of expression to compensate for the "missing" sections.
I removed "gender expression" because to me gender expression is subjective. I don't like the way "f*minine" / "m*sculine" is used sometimes to enforce gender roles & misgendering. "It doesn't matter what gender you are, everyone has..." Nah.
If you must you can still write down the descriptors you prefer (or don't prefer!).
I removed "physically" "emotionally attracted to" because imo physical attraction is less important than emotional/romantic attraction. emotional attraction can also imply friendship in some ways. I have the perspective that you should be romantically attracted, unless you're aromantic. I don't like the emphasis of "physical attraction," in the cis gay/lesbian community (due to hyper-sexualization and other issues). the TQ+ community has the same issue ofc but in a different way. Anyways it just gives the wrong vibe to me.
gender/identity vs gender/sex assigned at birth
I'm making multiple versions of two variations; one with gender/sex assigned at birth, and the other without. These are pretty much done.
I'm conflicted about the whole "afab" vs "amab" thing. it's easy to cause division and be dismissive. I don't want to be defined by my gender/sex assigned at birth - some people think I should be OK being called "biologically...," well I'm not. so yeah this is a way to express that, how I see fit. If you don't even want to mention it, that's an option~
a lot of times TQ+ people are told they "identify as" a gender but not as they are. I chose a cutie mark to show how a person's gender is part of their being. ofc I have a blank version so you can draw your own cutie mark if you wish~
