expanding on that: post-book 4, after varrick and zhu liâs wedding, imagine wing, wei, and huan staying with opal at air temple island.
wei and wing are obviously too rowdy to stay for more than two weeks tops, but during their time there, bolin visits often and ends up ogling them a lot⌠since he fond out theyre both gay and all.
bolin ended up bringing them along to the shooting of varrickâs newest mover, so they could help him out with the stunts and all that. upon hearing the news that the twins wouldnt be staying at the air temple anymore, he offered to take them to a probending game, to cheer them up maybe. (they werent actually upset at all though, in fact they were going to use the rest of their allowance to spend another week or so at the Four Elements hotel before going back home to zaofu.)
they headed out to the probending arena and wooowww, wing and wei loved it! senseless violence in good fun? SPORTS??? sounds like heaven, right?!
the twins asked bolin, how could we possibly get in on this!?
bolin figured, huh, guess i could introduce them to toza.
the only problem would end up being that wing and wei cant play on the same team, but thats alright. they can still live together and stuff. so toza sets them up to live above the gym, just like he did for mako and bolin. toza warned them, though, theyre old enough to go out and get real jobs, and they should consider doing so.
until then, though, bolin helped out with a little probending training, in the gym and the locker room. he ended up getting his butt smacked with a towel every time he was in that locker room with the twins.
at the twinsâ first match against each other, bolin made sure to get mako and opal and chief beifong to come watch. mako brought wu with him, and opal brought a couple of her lady airbender friends.
aunt lin was genuinely impressed with how the twins took so well to the probending style of earthbending. but, hey, her nephews had talent. and grit. plenty of grit! she even went so far as to tell them that, despite the fact they probably hear it constantly from their mother. but their reaction was a little surprising: they were absolutely ecstatic to hear it from their aunt lin! they were apparently worried their aunt didnt like them, or think much of them.
when the twins saw bolin again in the locker room, they squeezed him into a big ole platypus bear hug!!! they let him know how thankful they were that he got aunt lin to show up to the match. bolin admitted he got mako to invite her. the twins didnt even care how he did it, theyre just so glad he did. so, ending on a good note, bolin offered to take the twins out to dinner sometimeâmaybe even out to Kwongâs?
the twins accept the offer, with wing punching bolinâs arm in affection, and wei holding onto bolinâs other arm, and giving him a smooch on the cheek. bolin showed off his signature goofy grin, and wing and wei started to leave. before they walked out, bolin asked them âwait! i know iâm stupid and this is stupid, and i should really be able to tell you apart by now, but which twin punched me and which⌠kissed me?â
wing and wei answered honestly, wing confessing he punched, and wei confessing he kissed.
bolin took a good long look at the both of them while they talkedâtheir hair, their expressions, and⌠he noticed the difference in the twoâs voices. one was softer lately. bolin asked wei to say something else. all wei could do was smile and say, âfor what, big boy?â
bo nodded his head, putting on his thinking face. he said, âmhmm⌠wei, keep calling me that, and iâll be able to tell you two apart with no problem!â the twins laughed, and he noticed again that weiâs voice had the softer ring to it. that makes senseâhis lips were soft, too. he watched the twins leave, taking turns punching each other, and whispering something, looking back at him. he had no idea what they were saying, but he didnt really care.
all he knew was that he just couldnt wait to have dinner with those twins.
