he’s absolutely the food guy

he’s also the safe team driver in a tight spot

in addition to being good at non-lethal getaways, he seems to end up in the driver’s seat often enough

so Nicky as competent driver is canon. and can we really blame him? i can’t speak to Joe’s abilities, but here’s Andy and Nile having a go

(were i Nicky i too would go for the less stressful option)

in any case, the comics vibe is less family than team. Andy may be ‘boss’, but the rest of them put her in charge

(makes you wonder how often they trade off positions on account of specialisation)

so i wouldn’t call Nicky mom. more like the usual voice of reason

he also does a decent good cop, when Joe isn’t feeling it. (which is most of the time)

he’s not my fav (that would be Joe) but you can probably tell i like comics!Nicky lots. long, lean, red-headed drink of water who sasses his partner for grins, keeps his cool when he’d probably rather not, cooks nine times out of ten because he’s reliable that way, drives when he wants to make sure everyone stays alive the first time, and prefers rear guard to point because he knows from patience (rooftop perches & stone floored abbeys) and also he’s really fucking good with rifles
