❝ call that motherfucker down here now , i’ll shake his hand , ❞ richie counters , grinning ear to ear with feigned fervor in his challenge . for a not - cop , he seems alright . humoring richie , at least , and that counts for a MILLION in his mind . spider - man . okay , rolls off the tongue . maybe a bit too simple for richie’s taste , but it works . ❝ spider - man . dope . you do all the hero kind of stuff , right ? am i INTERRUPTING your patrol ? ❞ eyes wandering , taking in the sight and feeling some kind of way about the sound of the other’s voice . ❝ you … i have a friend who would LOSE their mind , i think , if they knew i’d met you . he works up in the lab over there - do you hang out there at all ? when you’re not fighting petty street sign crime , i mean . ❞

“I want to be an artist.  I don’t know, as a kid I always really liked being creative and now that I’m older that creativity bug has never gone away?” Seth shrugged, not knowing how to be comfortable talking serious conversations.  He loved making people smile and the future was not something that made him smile.  Seth nodded at Peter’s question.  “Yeah! He said that’s the only way I could get paid.  I tried to point out that money’s made of cotton but I guess that wasn’t enough.”

“well, you were at the very least a very good face painter? that’s a pretty solid starting point.” peter nodded at seth with a sure smile, nudging him lightly. “you think there are any fancy drawing academies around here?” the brunet pulled his knee to his chest, looking at seth while he spoke and only nodding once he was finished. “maybe my brain isn’t working -- he’s asking you to create something that’s never been done before with no funding? man, and i thought norman osborn was bad.”

❝ i told you - i just happened upon it already coming loose . i’m saving the city legal fees from the damn thing falling and snapping bones . ❞ he talks uninterrupted , but wild eyes look the other over with inane curiosity . this must be one of those BIG SHOT heroes he keeps hearing about . he doesn’t look all that intimidating , richie notes . ❝ never touched a drop of alcohol in my life - i just look like this . ❞ he can’t help the snort that escapes him , guttural and loud , over being called SIR . since when ? ❝ please , mister sir is my father . i’m richie . what’s YOUR name ? ❞

“Oh you’ve definitely said it, on one of our drinking escapades.  I even have it in my voice memo if you want your proof.”  She said defiantly, knowing that voice memo would come in handy one day.  “For Bowie? I would never insult his honor like that.  Now someone like Air Supply I might use as coasters but honestly that’s what you’d deserve if you gave me something like that.”  Grace shrugged at the question about the fight.  “Honestly it sounded like it was a good one.  Some teachers got black eyes in the middle of it so that’s kind of funny.  And sadly no I didn’t place bets.  I feel like I’m one bad move away from losing my job so I didn’t want to push it by encouraging the kids.”

“i knew you were obsessed with me, it was only a matter of time ‘til it came out.” he dramatically blew a dark curl out of his eye line --  to make a point, obviously. “well at least i can trust you with bowie, at least. you’ve also just given me the perfect idea for a christmas gift, so start getting excited.” sirius wiggled his brows at her, a small grin on his lips. “teachers got black eyes and no one got expelled? man, these kids are lucky. we just had to look at the professors wrong and ended up in detention.” he frowned for a moment. “why do you think you’re one bad move away from losing the job? am i meant to be in worried mode?”

eddie curses at himself softly, his cheeking heating up and turning a light shade of red as he steadied the table. ❝ no, no injuries, probably just an ugly bruise later, ❞ he spoke softly, running a hand through his hair, ruffling it to the side. ❝ i think, if you could get drunk on coffee, i’d have a hell of a problem. doesn’t even affect me anymore, how sick is that? ❞ eddie said with a chuckle as he twirls one of the (many) silver rings on his finger. ❝ i didn’t spill too much of your stuff, did i? they like me in there - i can get you another if you want. ❞

marinette was clueless to the slip up, distracted by their excitement to get to share one of their passions with peter. “ yes! ” she enthused with a parisian accent, fighting the urge to jump up and down on the spot. “ i mean… yes to teaching you how to sew, not that you have bad fashion choices! although those could use a little work… ” they rambled, then laughed awkwardly as they realised their own slip up. “ do you have free time now? we could go back to my place so i could teach you? ”

peter easily laughed back, the other seemingly always making him feel some kind of ease whenever they were together. “are you sure?” matching their enthusiasm as he pulled his backpack closer to his chest. “look, i know, i know, my fashion choices aren’t the greatest...but they really need work?” peter tried his best to look as wounded as possible; a dramatic, puppy-dog look being shot their way. “i have a few hours to kill, and why not use them accidentally stabbing myself with a tiny needle a bunch of times? lead the way to your fashion sanctum.”

“I am absolutely not messing with you.  I could never make this up.”  He laughed and pointed to the exact fact he just read it from.  “I think it’s implying an urn? But I don’t know if that’s better or worse than a giant one.”  Mike paused for a moment thinking.  “Isn’t all coffins just a form of pringles can?  I want chips to be buried with me when I die now.”

“like a zombie iron man but...pringle edition.” he scrunched up his face, shaking his head a bit. “well, that depends on your definition of a coffin, i guess? because if it’s just something things are kept in, isn’t the earth a giant pringles can coffin?” he pointed a finger in the air as if it were to add to his point. “what about the dip? zombie you can’t go without dip.”
