HARLEY’S NEVER FELT THIS NERVOUS IN HIS LIFE. ze tries to reassure himself that it’s just eddie, his best friend, but the mere thought of eddie sets off the nerves once more, fluttering a storm in his ribcage. after everything, after the party, the kiss, the apologies, all the way to mike trying to tell him to take a leap of faith — it’s as if harley’s on a ride ze can’t get off of. he wants to come clean, confess his feelings, but it’s all so much bubbling over, and harley doesn’t think he could handle the possibilities that follow. the thought of losing eddie is more than harley can take, and ze shivers at the thought. and the cold.
PERHAPS ONE DAY HARLEY WILL DRESS FOR THE weather, but harley runs warm often usually. it doesn’t help, either, harley supposes, that ze had been so excited to see eddie that ze hadn’t bothered going to zems apartment, had just went from the lounge he was sitting in to standing outside waiting. he can spot the familiar figure though in the distance, waiting until eddie’s in ear shot to start playing taylor swift’s version of love story on his phone just as he had texted about. modern romance. he steps forward a bit to meet him at least a little halfway before he greets, toothy grin and slightly breathless, “ hi sunshine. you ready to go out on an adventure ? ”
