((Hello to those of my followers who are still here for some reason!

I’m back after almost a year to announce that unlike the other long sudden hiatuses I’ve had, I’m not coming back from this one. I’ve simply lost my interest in this blog for good this time.

I started this rp blog after binge-watching the entirety of Yu-Gi-Oh! and falling head over heels for Ryou and Yami Bakura. That was four years ago, during the worst year of my life AKA my year abroad in England. And while it took another year before I started finding other yugioh rp blogs, all the roleplays I had brought a big light to my life that year, and afterwards all the roleplays I’ve had on this blog have been so fun and exciting and amazing and emotional!

So thank you to everyone I’ve ever interacted with on this blog, whether you were a funny anon, someone I only rped with once, or one of my deared rp partners! You all gave me such a fun and amazing experience here and I will never forget it!

Now, considering how I almost only had fun here, I should tell you the two main-reasons I still won’t be coming back to this blog:

I don’t have the energy to commit to this anymore. Not including the stress of having several rp threads going on at the same time, I simply don’t have the energy to write and focus on my muses and rp threads. I started uni a little over a year ago, and had to move out because it’s two hours away from home, and it’s been hard. Being independent (both in living and studies) has been really hard for me and has been sucking up my energy leaving me unable to commit to stuff like this blog or even just to my ask blog (askthenewlordofshadows).

I’ve moved fandoms. When I got into Yu-Gi-Oh! it became my main fandom, and both Ryou and Yami Bakura became my top two favorite characters of all time. My love for these characters was the fuel that kept this blog running. But last year I started watching My Hero Academia and it has since become my new main interest, and its protagonist, Izuku, has become my new #1 fav character. I wish I could say I’m sorry, but I can’t really control what my brain chooses to obsess over. Ryou will always be dear to me (I’ve even got one of DragonBeak’s body pillows of him), I’ve simply moved interests, and I’m too tired to try and shift my attention back to Yu-Gi-Oh! for now.

If anyone is still interested in me or my content, my personal blog is @sketch-elf, and I’ve got an art blog called @elfy-sketches (tho I don’t post a lot of artwork nowadays because of my aforementioned lack of energy).

Edit: I won’t be deleting this blog, btw! I’ll let it stay up if I ever wanna go back to it and look at it for nostalgic reasons.

TL;DR: Thank you to everyone I’ve interacted with over the years! I’ve had an amazing time roleplaying with yall! I won’t come back tho because I’ve moved fandoms and don’t have the energy to commit to this blog anymore.

Ryou saw Bakura’s shocked expression. He had probably expected him to call him a liar, snark at him and then leave without another word. He might have been more sarcastic towards him if everything Bakura had told him hadn’t been so overwhelming it left him too tired to be properly angry. He was just confused and distressed, and didn’t know what to do.

When Bakura locked eyes with him, Ryou looked in his eyes and saw a person who was confused too. Where was the manipulative, rude and sadistic bastard who he had lived with a few years earlier, that he could be angry at for everything that happened?

He cast his eyes down, and his gaze landed on the scar on his hand. He balled his fist and watched it turn completely white. Then his gaze moved to his wrist watch, and he saw the time. He could still leave and come to work on time…

“Come on,“ Bakura practically whined after his once-host stayed quiet for a beat too long, “say something!“ He was begging. “Call me names, say you believe me, or don’t, just don’t sit there watching me squirm…“

He exhaled, fiddling with the rim of his cup. “…I know you have to be somewhere. Just…” He caught sight of the scar on Ryou’s hand as his fingers flexed, and he deflated. It was just a pipe dream to be forgiven….Or at least understood. 

“You can go. I don’t know why I thought talking with you over coffee was going to change anything.“ He muttered bitterly, feeling his veins freezing over with frustration and horror. Nothing could ever fix what he did, no matter how forgiving Ryou was, or wasn’t, nothing would fix the life his hands had destroyed. He’d been a puppet, and Ryou had been his puppet… He understood how that felt; he’d never forgive Zorc, so Ryou should never forgive him…

“Wait!” he said. “I...” He took a deep breath, then looked Bakura in the eyes.

Zorc’s apartment was quite nice. Of course it was, with all the stuff he stole. Even if it was nice didn’t mean that it was exactly decorated in good taste. Zorc had no sense of interior design so he had just kinda threw things he thought looked cool wherever. 

“I’m not… choking you… you.. cunt!” Bakura said, coughing between nearly each word. He kept squirming, hitting and kicking the other Marik.

“Oh, right,” Ryou said. He had almost forgotten about Mariku. “Well, as long as I keep track of where the exits are, that shouldn’t be a problem. Though perhaps we shouldn’t go to the amusement park, then.”

“Hmm, yeah, I guess you’re right,” Ryou said with a sigh, but then he brightened up.

“So if we won’t be able to remember this anyway, there’s no reason to try and solve problems.” He clapped his hands together. “Would you like to hang out? We could go to a coffee shop, an arcade, or maybe even the amusement park.”

Bakura was too busy hitting himself in the chest to notice the other Marik moving over to him. Only once his arms were around him did he freeze, and after the first hit in his chest by that bastard he began to squirm and try to get out of the grip. What the hell did he think he was doing?

What the hell? What the other Marik did was so sick and uncalled for that Bakura forgot what he was doing and started choking the muffin. He bent over and spent half a minute coughing up the sweet pastry, the coughs getting worse every second.

“And that’s not how it works for you? That sucks.”

Bakura crumbled up the paper of a finished muffin and threw it at the other Marik, they picked up another one to eat from the pack.

Ryou had to listen extra closely to make sure he got all the information, but in the end he still shook his head.

“That makes even less sense,” he said. “So you and Mariku change places, but the other halves of your personalities still stay in the dimension you left? Why?”
