So first off, I appreciate the moments the characters have together, especially the ones where Lulu gives Yuna "her hair" after she wakes up and Auron is on it as well, and the infamous "HAHAHAHA" scene. 😂 Story wise, I was a bit out of it, but what interested me was the Fayth, and the pilgrimage that reminded me of Ophilia from Octopath. It's on the religious side, so don't be surprised when you see a ton of temples. I wish there were more unique boss themes, but when they're so great, well, you don't mind lol. To name a few tracks worth listening to, Otherworld and Luca are my picks. 👌 Battles are entertaining, ranging from trying not to stand directly in front of a boss, to ones that provide a bit of dialogue through the talk action. This game is also a nice change of pace from a level system. You have to know what abilities/skills you want on the Sphere Grid, and it's basically how you get your stat points. Not to mention weapon customization, which can make your characters more powerful, bulkier or give them a better chance of not being afflicted with status ailments. Speaking of status ailments, Rikku was the saving grace in nearly every battle where the enemies/bosses poisoned my party or turned them into statues. She might just have my favorite Overdrive, considering you can use it to fully heal everyone or provide your party with numerous buffs at once. Combat becomes much more tactical as you make your way on the Sphere Grid. You can debuff foes, blind them, silence their magic, and my favorite: using Dispel on a boss' Reflect, then watching them hit themselves, because that's what they were going for anyways. 😉 Oh, one last thing, the cutscenes are beautiful. I watched in awe as the characters came to life, and I ended up liking them even more. I'm definitely looking forward to a second playthrough as well as playing FFX-2 sometime. 👍
