I find it intriguing that Johnny decided to move Psychodoughboy and Mr. Eff to the room where he tried to kill Devi, and placed a portrait of Nailbunny on a table besides them. It can be interpreted as a memorial to his psychosis-induced friends, but I'd like to think it's a memorial to the parts of himself that were contained inside of them which he's now permeneantly or partially estranged from now that they're inanimate. ...I find something sweet but depressing about him choosing to have this be in the room where he attempted to kill Devi because it feels like an aknowledgement that so much died alongside their would-be relationship, like the delusion that he could return to the life and self which he had before becoming consumed via blood wall. I'd also like to think he put Pez candies on the table where the portrait's sitting for Nailbunny considering he's made popcorn for Mr. Fuck.

I think one of my favorite but underrated parts of JTHM is the fact that Johnny is actually friends with the splinters. He's watched television with Nailbunny and has probably re-hammered him into so many different walls, lovingly and likely multiple times a day, just to have him around in whatever room he's in. He calls him "Bunny" and lets Mr.Fuck drive his car just because he knows that he likes it. Those are his friends! It's sad to think about in the case of the Doughboys because while misused for the purposes of evil they did start out as legitimate parts of Johnny's mind and therefore those friendships might've been genuine.

I feel like when I try to explain the tragedy of Johnny and Devi's relationship to not JTHM fans, it just looks like

I really wanted to finish this scene today, but I have to stop here.

"Do it poorly or risk doing it never at all" [paraphrasing] is advice I have had learned to live by. So close to ending the montage and moving on to the final act.

Every scene that involves Juan C's trailer looks so inconsistent and shitty, despite my efforts to draw blueprints of his trailer and to apply my perspective skills [I have managed to develope minimum perspective skills despite decades of practice. Damn...But then again, it's a shittty trailer in a shitty trailer park so hopefully the scene looks natural despite my lack of perspective skills. Juan deserves a bigger kitchen to work with. So cramped. Such a tiny stove. So little counter space/ cabinet storage. Minimal budget. But he still manages to make good food.
