when Goat finally caught up to Benny in the Tops Casino, Benny promised to put the past behind them and work together. 

Goat, despite making it his mission to find Benny and get revenge for ruining his life, Benny talked of giving a chance to help Vegas and make it independent.

With Goat still very new and naive to the Mojave and the way all the fractions operated in the New Vegas territory, he agreed to Benny’s offer.

of course Benny was quick to turn on Goat, which only turned on Benny. the courier who survived a bullet to the face survived Benny’s gang of Gecko’s attacks.

this led to Goat finding Benny captured by the Legion, Goat had yet to get himself acquainted with Ceasers legion but he knew to stay away from them. None the less Goat went for the opportunity to finally take out the man who had ruined his life even if he had to agree to the Legions options of killing.

Goat humiliated Benny in a hand to hand combat and upon his loosing Benny was crucified. 

this was the last time Benny saw the mailman, and it was the last time the Mojave would see Goat for a long time as he went missing after the events.
