Trans*gression
I wouldnāt wish being trans* on my worst enemy. No one should have that constant feeling that something is missing, that no matter how much they put their body through they may never truly feel connected to themselves. No one should have to lose family or friends over being themselves. No one should walk down the street and feel as if a target is on their back due to fear of being harassed. (Yes I know that not everyone is transphobic and cruel, but we can never be sure of who is and who isnāt and that is a scary thought) No one should have to spend ridiculous amounts of money on doctorās visits, hormones, surgeries, name/gender marker changes and have to endure all of the awkward encounters that come with it. No one should feel the need to transition medically to prove their gender is āvalidā or to feel safe in society. No one should have to live up to the standards of all ends of the gender spectrum by passing in public but being misgendered and held to their birth genders expectations from their families. Don't get me wrong, I love myself most the time and my "trans ness" but it truly takes so much out of me.

I just think that people are so weird about nudity and the human body. Sex is not bad, naked bodies are not bad and naked bodies donāt always have to be connected to sex.

I donāt usually post stuff like this on the interwebz, but I feel like itās kind of important for me to post this right now. Not only for myself, but for anyone who has gone through the same struggles and confusion as I have. Buckle up, because this may take a while. I remember being very young, like maybe 10 or younger, and hearing the word āpansexualā for the first time. As soon as I heard what it meant, I thought to myself āthatās me!ā But after that, I never really thought about my sexuality again until I was in middle school. I remember having crushes on girls when I was younger, but not really registering my feelings as anything romantic. But then I got to middle school and developed my first real crush on a girl, and I was kind of devastated. Iāve never been super girly, so as long as I can remember people have asked me āare you gay?ā Or they just assumed that I was. At first I would just laugh and brush it off, but once I started realizing that I might actually be, I hated when people would ask me or assume that I was. And I spent a lot of nights crying myself to sleep because I didnāt understand the way I was feeling. I loved guys. And I loved girls. For some reason, that word that I had found to describe myself years before was no longer in my vocabulary. In my mind at the time, I either had to be gay or straight. Every single day for years I would ask myself āam I a lesbian?ā I drove myself crazy and developed so much anxiety over that one question. It wasnāt until about two years ago that I finally figured myself out. I just love people, regardless of gender. It took some time for me to finally accept it, and some more time after that to build up the courage to start telling my friends and family. But since Iāve become completely honest with myself and the people I love, I have never been happier. Iām here. Iām queer. And Iām weird. Happy National Coming Out Day. š³ļøāšš

Happy national coming out day everyone! š When I first realized something was different I was very young but I never understood. I always wanted to be the boy in games and would sneak and wear my dadās boxers when no one was around. I just put those feelings in the back of my head because I knew it wasnāt ānormalā. In middle school I came out to my friends as bisexual although I didnāt feel that described me. But I still wasnāt sure. People were mean, they threatened to jump me and I sat alone at lunch until highschool. Shortly after graduating I realized I liked women more than men and came out as a lesbian. The first picture is from that time. But that label never really fit either. The more masculine I became the more those thoughts of being a man popped into my head. Two years ago I made some new trans friends who finally gave me the courage to accept that I was transgender and that I was never a woman, that I was always a man whoās love has no label. Iām queer as fuck and proud. I am so thankful for all of the love and support I get from the people around me. Iāve lost quite a few people for just being me but it was all worth it in the end. For anyone who doesnāt have a strong support system just remember there are people like myself who would love to be your friend and will accept you for who you are. Donāt be shy, if you ever need a friend or just need someone to talk to, I got you.
Fun fact: the anniversary of my first hair cut, pictured here, lands on the anniversary of my one year on testosterone on the 15th if this month!
The metaphor could even extend to the fact that there are dozens of other phones on the market that arenāt a complete disaster, but people pretend Apple and Samsung are their only choice.
