HP Age Gap Fest

Hey, everyone! The time has come! Claiming starts today!

Before you sign up for our fest, please remember that we are an 18+ fest.

This fest deals with mature subjects and the participants are responsible for curating their own experiences within the fest. 

This includes the prompt list, which is uncensored and might contain concepts that are uncomfortable to some. We would like to remind everyone that DLDR and YKINMK apply here.

Here’s our F.A.Q. to help you with claiming!

Since the prompts are distributed on the first come first served basis, please, choose three preferred prompts for maximum satisfaction. You will be able to claim ONE prompt during the Claiming period (March 1st – May 30th). We will not list the claimers name on the prompt list.

Another important point is that THIS FEST WILL BE ANONYMOUS UNTIL A WEEK AFTER POSTING CONCLUDES, so we ask you not to divulge the prompt you are claiming.

Upon claiming a prompt you will be invited to join HPHedonism discord server where you will be able to join our creators-only HP AGEGAP Fest channel. You will exclusively have access to the fest channels. This is an optional perk and it is not necessary to join the server to participate in the fest. All important information and reminders will be send out via email.

When you finish your creative work, you can submit it into the Fest collection -HERE-

After you submitted your work properly, you will be able to claim another prompt. More information about submitting will be provided in the email confirmation that everyone who claims a prompt.

The mods have varying schedules, so please be patient about hearing back from us.  If you haven’t heard from us within 3 days, assume something went wrong and contact us on our e-mail or here on tumblr. We are happy to announce that we have already received several submissions! We are trying to get to them as soon as we can, but due to IRL commitments we are a little behind on reading things.

I will take this as a more general question. There are several reasons a prompt might not have made it to the final doc. Including, but not limited to: The mods overlooked it while transferring the prompts, it got lost during formatting, or some other form of human error or the prompt did not reasonably include an age gap relationship as outlined in this post.

In light of already having received several invalid claiming forms we would like to remind people to read the instructions carefully and include all the information regarding your preferred prompt (Letter, Number, Format).

If any of these components are missing we cannot process your claim. This can result in losing first dibs on preferred prompts.

yesterday the prompting period for HP AgeGap Fest officially wrapped up, and we are absolutely blown away — we received well over 200 prompts.

Thank you all so much for your creativity, your enthusiasm, and the incredible ideas you shared.

The mods have been working behind the scenes nonstop, and we’ve created a special prompt document designed to make browsing easy and fun. It’s organized so you can quickly find the ships you’re most excited about. This will be a separate document from the original prompt collection form — that one was just for submissions, and this new one is all about accessibility.

The mods are working very hard on making the experience good for everyone, but we also have busy lives. From this point on, we will not be answering questions that are already addressed in the rules. If your Tumblr ask is not answered within two days, please double-check the rule document/our Tumblr blog asks first. Thank you for understanding!

We also want to remind everyone that prompts are just that – prompts.

They’re meant to inspire you, not box you in. We want everyone to be able to create a piece that they love and they are proud of (while it adheres to the fest rules - in this case, the age gap between the main characters in the ship must be at least 10 years), and if this requires changing the details of the prompt you are free to do so. Prompts are just your starting point.

While we hope the original prompter enjoys the finished work (that’s why DNWs and likes are included), your creative vision truly comes first. However, we ask that you are considerate in your choice to dedicate the work to the prompter if you have made major changes especially related to their DNWs.

We are very excited to see what you all create!

But I was just noticing that the prompt in #173 is exactly the same thing as the squick section, which makes it conflicting/confusing.🤔

(I'm going to presume, given the other prompts by the same person that the squick is the part that is wrong?)

Let's start it off with acknowledging that we are very happy that people are so excited for this fest and wanting to bring things to our attention.

However, we would like to use this opportunity to remind people that we have a mod team that works behind the scenes on making sure that everything is running smoothly. Which includes monitoring the prompts.

The list you can see right now is not a final version but rather just a collection of the submitted forms. We are reformatting it before claiming, which includes screening prompts to see if they make sense, are spelled correctly, and align with the premise of the fest.

We ask the people prompting to practice some basic discernment to make sure that this process is painless for us by reading the fest rules, double reading the prompts, and being considerate of both us and their fellow participants when it comes to communicated their premise clearly, concisely, and correctly.

The hope is always that a good chunk will get claimed and most of those will reach the finish line. It is important to keep in mind that this is our first year running this fest and there is no historic data to go by. Often life gets in the way and in the end we can never really tell just from prompting what to expect once we round up. Maybe some of the prompts will inspire works even once the deadline has passed.
