i feel like there’s no critiquing each other’s track rankings for folklore bc whatever your ranking is really just speaks to what you’ve gone through in life and that’s highly subjective

the hill i will gladly die on: taylor swift has not and will probably never peak. and its not because she’s good at topping her past projects. its because she never tries to repeat the success of her past projects. the woman never once uses the same recipe twice - she takes a handful of good things from her past and packs them up and moves on to a completely different playing field every time. when her last project and her current one are like comparing apples to oranges, there is no way to lose. the fandom and the media will always be comparing and ranking because that is just what humans do, but the fact of it is that taylor alison swift has never made anything comparable in her life.

I- THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY

Taylor really wrote an entire album in 3 months and didn’t tell her label till she was about to release it and all I can think about is how Scott forced her to change the name of the Speak Now album from Enchanted to Speak Now and forced her into changing Red from it’s orginal direction so that it would have more singles to sell instead of the album being cohesive. Taylor Swift has ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THIS but she could never show it becuase of Scott and Big Machine. I won’t stop saying how happy I am that she is free to be her complete self! 

I can't wait to wake up tomorrow and listen to folklore again and again and repeat this for the rest of my life

There is a certain power in the fact that she didn’t say ‘fuck’ on the album where she was angry. She waited for an album where she was soft and content and spinning stories instead of reeling from everything that was thrown at her and lashing out. She said something once about never yelling and screaming and not giving people a chance to say you’re crazy. There is so much quiet strength in that.

taylor swift has a song for everything. got dumped? yep. fell in love? theres one for that. moved into a house with a lucrative history involving a rich woman that was blamed for her husbands death? theres one for that too

say it louder for the people at the back.

i think this album is for the ones who actually appreciate state of grace acoustic and treacherous demo recording

august is a breakup song for people who went through a breakup with someone they never dated. “you were never mine to lose” yet you lost them anyways and nobody really gets that pain because they didn’t realize how much this person meant to you, or at least THAT person doesn’t know and fuck i needed this song

Honestly, fuck big machine label group. The fact that after Taylor left we’ve gotten 37 songs, 2 albums, a folk album, a documentary, 4 videos directed or codirected by Taylor, AND SHE OWNS all of it in about ONE YEAR! They were holding her back and I’m glad she’s finally free! I’m so happy and proud of her!
