just think of the hilarity potential, it is literally jake arguing with a broody monster and then proceeding to engage in reluctant wacky antics. is there a single set-up that could better encapsulate the true unrecognised weirdness of his island life??

what if it just kills tons of animals for him and hides them all in one place so he can find them later as a treat, except ‘later’ turns out to be after several months and by this point all the dead animals have piled up literally metres high in a clearing somewhere 

what if the cat monster pisses on jakes house so everything on the island knows its their shared territory

what if the cat monster insists on carrying him in its mouth except every single time its teeth tear through his jacket and he just plummets to the ground again, and spends the next hour stitching his clothes back up and cussing under his breath

(he cant cuss too loudly in case the cat monster hears him and wants to nuzzle. last time it nuzzled him it broke his arm and he spent two weeks with it strapped to the barrel of a rifle hoping it would set straight.)

You may think you like beasts of a feline inclination now miss ro-lal but trust me youd think again if youd viewed the sights i have viewed!!
