ive been in a bit of a fujo mood lately which always has me a little bit guilty because im like i neeeed to continue my championing of women and femslash. but also it's not fair that i can't simply peacefully enjoy a bit of my free time to fujo out every now and again because i feel obligated to try and compensate for people who will only think about a female character's internal landscape with a gun to their head and maybe not even then. can everyone just start liking women please so it becomes a nonissue

the thing is corin loves her siblings so much it borders on self destructive. so much of her identity is being bethany's protector and carver's mentor. she lives and breathes to keep bethany happy and safe and carver happy and ready. when she first learned about templars she said "oh so what i am for bethany?" and when she learned the cruel truth behind the institution she could never forgive them for perverting the truest form of purpose and belonging she feels for her sister and what she always wanted her brother to become.

she loves both of them so much and so differently. she isn't overly cautious with either of them, she knows they understand her because they grew up together, all idolised their father together (although differently), all admired their mother together (although differently) but she still also puts too much pressure on herself to always be there for them and always be the person they need her to be at any given moment.

and bethany and her have found such a good arrangement where corin can change shape from protector of an apostate to the big loving sister who always is ready to listen and act. and carver and her have this over the top rivalry about their skills, the ones she taught him, and they both know it's not that serious because when it comes down to it corin is always ready to remind him how brilliant he is and they always commit to the bit.

and then they both get taken away from her and corin has no fucking clue who she's supposed to be.
