imo the best way to interpret those “real people don’t do x” writing advice posts is “most people don’t do x, so if a character does x, it should be a distinguishing trait.” human behavior is infinitely varied; for any x, there are real people who do x. we can’t make absolute statements. we can, however, make probabilistic ones.

for example, most people don’t address each other by name in the middle of a casual conversation. if all your characters do that, your dialogue will sound stilted and unnatural. but if just one character does that, then it tells us something about that character.

I binged the Scale Hunters Webtoon today and I just had to make some art of it, even if I still have a fever, haha.

So much to compliment!

First of all, look at how beautiful the art style is! Absolutely stunning!

I just love how the eyes look in particular! Everything is just so shiny and colorful! Plus there’s so much detail in every frame! This Webtoon has such good quality!

And the character design? Peak. Even for just background characters too!

The story and world building are all super good and interesting! I cannot recommend Scale Hunters enough!

And-!

There are so many characters to shippp! (Literally giggling and kicking my feet right now. I fear I might become as obsessed with this Webtoon as I am tek…)

Like Mote and Thomas-

Look at this! You can’t just introduce two characters to each other like this and not expect me to ship them!!! (That being said they have only interacted once so far in the story, haha.)

The real question is- what should their ship name be? Thomote? Motmas? Both of those sound weird, but I’m leaning more towards Thomote.

The Webtoon came out less than a year ago, (I think), so I fear I cannot find many other fans on the sites that I have, which is a big sad.

Anyways, that’s all the yapping I have in me at the moment. I’m quite tired, so I should probably go take a nap.
