Silver Armor <3 Spent so much time adding the little details, and I think it was all worth it! I haven't painted Astrid in super long time and I really enjoyed revisiting the music of the films while making this :)

Can we talk about this part of the soundtrack
I love this part because it captures Astrid’s raw vikingness and her determination to be the best. You can hear how strong the instrumentals are when she is running towards the dragon and how defeated she feels when the instrumentals become softer. Just a great theme for our warrior queen other than the romantic flight theme!
What subtle HTTYD references do you use daily?

This pair was too iconic to leave behind in RTTE😭 They didn’t even have to say anything just cut to a clip of Tuffnut crying into Chicken during the wedding scene. PLEASEEE I NEED IT😭
I grew up with HTTYD and since I held Hiccstrid on a pedestal my standards are so high now😭
They taught me the ideal relationship that I want and I’m forever grateful. There’s not a lot of healthy portrayals of relationships in media so I’m happy that I don’t see toxic relationships as normal. Can anyone else relate?

"Yeah...yeah I can do that. Um...when I was back at Berk I was apprenticing under Gobber and when the raids happened, I would get so distracted whenever I saw you. Every move was intentional, you were always in command and you were just amazing to look at. You and the other guys were usually in charge of putting out the fires but it was almost like you were gliding through it all. It was kind of like you were dancing among the flames. The light from the fired would illuminate your face so you looked ethereal yet I knew you were so powerful and strong. You looked like a valkyrie. Secretly, raid nights were my favorite time of the week because I would get to see you in your element. You are truly so incredible Astrid."
