Here's a fully finished piece for you all. Believe it or not... it's actually NOT a sketch!

He’d gaslight himself into thinking he hates Ruddiger’s guts and he’s glad that he’s gone (Andrew’s manipulation is slowly killing him)(he doesn’t even know if he has his own opinions)(he can’t form a thought without Andrew’s voice in his ears)

Varian: *running towards Zuko with open arms*

Zuko: *moves out of the way*

Varian: Hey, why'd you move?!

Zuko: I thought you were going to attack me.

Varian: I was going to hug you!

Zuko: Why would you hug me?

this entry was highly inspired by @bucketsfullofyou's really cool majestic cape idea for LO Varian and I'm so in love with it so ofc I wanna pay an homage to it!!

I also wanna shout out @elfand0m for sharing and exploring this idea with me as LO Varian's outfit (that Eugene commissioned/tailored just for him to wear) when he had his own ceremonial "debut" being officiated as a member of the royal family as "the jewel of the dark kingdom". (he couldn't wait for the whole thing to be over the whole time but thank god his best friend was there to keep him company at least) It was a really cute and fun idea and I absolutely loved it to bits
