Believe it or not, there was once a time when Gillian was carefree and easygoing. That all had changed when she had started her training, but suddenly that was something that didnât exist for the girl. A bright smile formed on the girlâs lips as she took a bite of the Twizzler she was eating and leaned towards the man sitting beside her, âDid you know the movie theater downtown is running a classic horror movie marathon until Halloween now? Iâm so excited that I can barely contain it!â
There was something familiar about the girl he found sitting next to him, but Dimitri couldnât tell if it was the same scent or just very similar to the slayer girlâs. It was obviously not the slayer, but the scent was far too close and was throwing him off. He was planning on keeping his distance and perhaps follow the girl to see where she led him to, but that plan was ruined by the initiated conversation. He put on his trademark smile as he turned to her. âIs that so? Iâve always had a strange fondness for classic horror -- Iâm glad Iâm not the only one to share in that. I take it that perhaps you will be going? Is it tonight?â

Sorin was hungry. No he was famished. Starving. He needed to get some blood in his system, and not just blood from a raw hamburger. He needed fresh human blood. Which was why he was in the forest by his house, looking in the eyes of a young male. âNow, you wonât fight m-â He cut himself off when he heard his stomach growl loudly. âAh, fuck it.â He said, biting into the humanâs neck, despite his screams and cries.
Dimtri had developed the hobby of traversing the forest the surrounded the small town, finding peace with the dewy air and various soft sounds of the creatures that resided within. However, there was a new sound of the forest that didnât exactly fit -- the innocent cries of some poor, young soul. Beyond curious, Dimitri followed the echoes only to see his son feeding from a human. Surprised, impressed, and even a bit suspicious, he stepped forward. âWell, this is something I was never expecting to walk in on. Iâm not sure what to say, Sorin. Iâm proud but a bit curious. You also failed to use your power over them, so I would give you a rating of two out of five. What brought you to finally reach this point?â
âThank you.â Mulci called out to the handsome stranger, a grin on her face. Quickly she finished up her sketch, so she wouldnât be wasting his time in case he had somewhere to be. She knew once the sun set, she wanted to go see if she could get in to the local bar, considering that she was almost one hundred and ninety-nine. At his question, she closed her sketchbook and motioned to the trees surrounding her house. âSafety actually. Although I guess you could say for comfort.â The woods were quite beautiful and definitely made a great addition to her sketches. Although she did miss the gnarled, bare trees of Halloween Town.
Dimitri waited patiently as she finished, taking the closing of the sketchbook as the cue for him to freely move. He slowly meandered up to the house, keeping a small distance between him and the girl. âSafety? Safety from what, may I ask? Living on your own in such a beautiful place -- you seem fully capable of taking care of yourself. And, despite your appearance, itâs obvious to me that you are not human,â he stated, easily sticking his hands into his pockets. Being alive for so long required that one be able to pick the special lot from the lumbering masses of humans. It was dangerous to wander into a territorial vampireâs space, so it was important to spot said vampires. Though, he took it the other was not of the same sort.
Dad & Son Bonding Time
As Sorin was pressed harder into the door, he knew that he had struck a nerve, and mentally he smiled ever so slightly. Heâd probably pay for it later, but at least he had the satisfaction of knowing that heâd been brave enough to say those words. That was something Dimitri could never take away from him. Or so he thought. âI call the fact that I have to drink blood to survive, and the fact that you drink from people becoming a monster.â He spat, trying to keep his eyes closed. At the mention of Alaska, Sorin wanted to shove a stake through the older vampireâs heart then and there. âI only turned her because I was forcibly turned immortal! I never asked for this, and maybe if you had asked me if I wanted to become a vampire instead of just turning me into one, I wouldnât have started to hate you!âÂ
At the command, sweat started to pour down Sorinâs face. He was struggling to keep his eyes closed. A little voice in his head that had his voice, yet suspciciously sounded like Dimitri when it came down to it dictionwise, was telling him to open his eyes. âIf you really want to be brave and face him, youâll open your eyes.â the voice said. But Sorin kept his eyes closed. But the voice would not hold up. âIf you keep fighting him, itâll only get worse for you.â âMaybe if you look at him, youâll see that he really just wants to be your father.â âIf you look at him, he wonât touch Ylania. Or Alaska.â On that last comment, Sorinâs eyes snapped open, only to be met with Dimitriâs blue ones. Those eyes. Those eyes held so much anger in them, and yet they were pulling him in, making him want to get a closer look. Sorinâs face started to slacken and his own eyes started to glaze over, unable to look away from Dimitriâs. No. Unable to look away from his fatherâs. The more he looked into those blue eyes, the more everything around him seemed to blur; everything that was not his fatherâs voice seemed to fade away into oblivion. And that included his own thoughts; as his own thoughts of resistance and hatred were eradicated, new thoughts were filling his mind. Ones telling him to listen to his father, that his father knew what was best for him, that he loved his father. Telling him that his fears were for nothing, just a teenage phase of delusion, and that he should go tell Ylania just that. Telling him that when he was with Dimitri, he was safe. And at that moment, voice monotone and eyes seemingly staring off into nothing, he said two words he wouldâve never said a few minutes ago. âYes father.â
Dimitri scoffed, not taking to the otherâs excuses. âYou could have chosen to turn your Alaska or not. If what you say were truth, that you had to do it, then I have the same excuse with you. You have choice -- as do I. Now, stop blaming yourself and take responsibility for what is now your life. It happened, get over it,â he said, far too done with his son pinning every bad thing on him. He knew Sorin would have preferred choice in being changed or not, but that was over. Now he was trying to excuse everything he did to be his fatherâs fault.
The more the boy struggled against him, the more Dimitri knew he would eventually give him. He would have to because Dimitri would not let up until it occurred. He was tired and he was done fighting. Even if this were not the most ethical way to end conflict, it seemed it had to be done considering his children would not listen to him otherwise. He knew his voice was swimming in Sorinâs head, saying whatever it was that was needed to convince the younger boy to look at him -- and he did. He saw the influence of his powers take effect and he slowly took off the pressure he used to keep the boy still. A sigh of relief left him when Sorin finally agreed with him. For the first time, Sorin agreed and Dimitri had never felt a larger weight being lifted from his shoulders. He let go of the boy completely, finally relaxing. âThank you, Sorin. Iâm sorry I had to do this to you, but you must understand it was the only way to have you listen to me and actually try. Do allow me inside and we shall have some tea -- Iâm sure you need a refreshment just as I do.â

âI definitely think you will, Dimitri.â She replied, brushing her hand against his.
âThatâs all I could hope for, dear,â he said, taking the hand that had touched his. âShall I escort you somewhere for more suitable for you?â
âGetting closer.â He said with a smirk. Feeling the lips against his neck, Lucifer wrapped his arms around the otherâs neck, feeling his body melt into the otherâs grip. âDonât you think you are a little to old to be giving someone Hickies?âÂ
âHickies?â He repeated with a chuckle against the otherâs skin. âNo, I was just wondering what the nectar of the gods would taste like. Iâve never been given the pleasure to taste the blood of someone so high standing as yourself. Of course, I would never take without permission.â
Since it was not yet nighttime, Mulci sat in the shade of her porch, thankful that her house was in the middle of the woods. Hood up and shades on, she sat sketching the area, as well as the person who had come into in it. When the person went to move from the spot, Mulci called out after them, âWait! Can you stay there for a second? Iâm almost done with my sketch.â
Dimitri had been perusing the town and its surrounding areas, wanting to know the new territory and make it his. He knew many vampires were populating the area, feeling their presence. He did not know how they worked, however, and wanted to ensure he had the best advantage in case something happened. He noticed the girl sitting, working intently on something. It was obvious she wasnât human considering her attire. He chuckled as she spoke, staying still. âNo problem, love. Do you live in isolation for fear or comfort?â
Dad & Son Bonding Time
Just as he was about to go in, he felt a pair of hands on him and suddenly he was pushed against the still locked door. Knowing exactly who it was that was restraining him, he mentally cursed himself. âYou idiot!â he thought. âFucking idiot.â Not only had he led his father straight to his house, but now heâd have to deal with trying to fight him. Which was not going well so far, seeing as Dimitri was much older and stronger than he was.
âWeâre all against you because you kept us all captive and forcibly turned us into monsters!â He spat, his words venomous. âYouâre not supposed to control your family, and force them to stay with you. And youâre not supposed to take it out on innocent people when your kids disobey you, or emotionally traumatize them as punishment!â All while saying this, he tried to squeeze his eyes shut. If he didnât look into the other maleâs eyes, then he wouldnât be able to be controlled. However before he could fully close his eyes, he caught a glimpse of the otherâs. Although his eyes were now shut, the compulsion to open them became irresistable. As the words left the other maleâs lips, Sorin let out a soft âN-No.â as he tried to keep his eyes shut.
Anger seared through Dimitri as his sonâs words entered the air. Everyone would have a different perspective on everything -- that was life. But, it was difficult for the vampire to understand how Soric would come to such conclusions. He practically growled with frustration, only pressing the younger one harder against the door.
âMonsters? Listen to yourself. You call the gift of eternal life becoming a monster? I have given you so much opportunity. You can do anything you wish, more than you ever could with your short, human life. You even turned your girlfriend. You wouldnât have spent all of millennia with her if you hadnât been turned by me and given the powers to bestow eternal life yourself,â he reasoned. âYou can come and go as you please, but you should never forget who made you. That is what a family does, Sorin. Now, you will look at me and we will be a family. You will convince your sister that I am not as bad as you both have deluded yourselves and you will not fear or hate me. Look at me and agree,â he commanded, voice barely below a shout as he held the boyâs face firmly.
Lucifer was going to answer the elder before he felt the pair of lucious lips against his own. He kissed back deeply, practically infecting the two of them with lust before pulling away, only enough to speak. âOh my dear, didnât you hear me say that Iâd take something other than a kiss? That must have been the bonus coming early.â
Dimitri chuckled softly after they parted, lips grazing the otherâs. âYou are right, I am sorry. A few love bites will be enjoyable for you, wonât they?â He asked, though it came just as a hypothetical question as he moved to press his lips to the boyâs neck. He left a soft kiss before gently sucking at the flesh, tempted to sink his teeth into the other.

âA nice name for a nice looking guy.â She stated. âAleksis Aikaterine Electra Kaligaris.â
âAnd, a very long and elegant name for an elegant and commanding woman. Itâs a pleasure to know it. I hope Iâll be able to say it many times in the future?â
She hadnât been paying much attention to whomever was looking at her, but as soon as she heard the voice of the culprit, it was all too familiar. She couldnât help but smirk at his words as her eyes fluttered up to look at him, though remained a little narrowed. âApart from my run in with Sorin..â she rolled her eyes with a slight sigh. â..You know, the same old thing where he claims the old me is still in there somewhere, and I was better before.. Blah, blah. I stop listening honestly.â she clenched her jaw a little. âItâs cute, that he thinks that why, and the slight glimmer of hope he holds onto, but itâs not going to happen.â she tilted her head with a nod. âApart from that, everyones been quite welcoming, actuallyâŚHow long have you been in this quaint little.. town?âÂ
âAh, Sorin has been giving me a bit of trouble as well. But, at least he chooses to speak back to you -- he likes to pretend Iâm not here. Itâs very frustrating to say the least. But, Iâm very glad everyone has been kind towards you. I believe I would have a problem if they were not. As for myself,â he started, a long sigh escaping him. âI have been managing, I suppose. There are those who avoid me and those who enjoy flirting back -- though the latter is few and far between.â
âWell, just because someone is a vampire, doesnât mean they have to give in to being a monsterâ some people feel remorse about hurting others, and I think if Sorin didnât have that, he wouldnât be the one I love, heâd be a heartless being.â she shrugged, she had a pointâ she loved Sorin for being just the way he was, and the last time he turned rogue it was not good for their relationship, the fact she feared and couldnât trust him for so long didnât help. âLucky me then..â she grinned, before pursing her lips in thought. âNot that long..Still getting a hang of a few things. I donât really, use my powers or anything.â she added, she didnât want to give a definite timeline of when she turned, incase he hadnât already guessed, or Sorin hadnât said or given anything away.Â
Folding his arms across his chest, Dimitri let his scrutinizing gaze look over the girl. There was something off about this entire situation and he wouldnât let it get past him. âWe are not monsters, whether you give into your needs or not. Humans must eat just as we must feed. At least we do not necessarily have to kill what we eat and pain is temporary,â he countered. âWhy not use your powers? They can be used without hurting others if that is what youâre so worried about. They are a gift and so is your extended life. Donât force yourself to be trapped in such a stagnate state when so many opportunities now lay at your feet. You can do whatever you wish with little to no consequences.âÂ
Dad & Son Bonding Time
Sorin groaned as he heard his father following him and started using his speed to get away. He really needed to get away. But he couldnât go back to his house with his father following him. Not if he wanted to not be pestered. HoweverâŚif he could make it back to his house before his father could, then he could slam the door and be safe. Dimitri wouldnât be able to get in unless invited, and there was no way in hell Sorin was inviting the older man in.
Swiftly he ignored his fatherâs words and shot off like a rocket back towards his house, with the hopes that he could get there. As trees and houses flew by, he could see his house coming up. With a grin, he made it to the porch, and got his key out, just about to go in.
Watching his son shoot off in the direction that no doubt was towards what Sorin would label as âsafetyâ, Dimitri let out a frustrated sigh and followed him just as quickly. Dimitri had been alive for much longer than Sorin, he knew how to play cat and mouse far better. Just as Sorin stopped, Dimitri pushed his son against the door to stop him.
âSorin, I am far too old to be dealing with you and your insecurities toward me. I have done nothing to hurt you or your sisters. I gave you all a new lease on life and this is how you repay me? I only wanted a family and instead I feel as though youâre all trying to be my enemy. Sorin,â he said in a firm tone, attempting to look into the boyâs eyes. âYou will be friendlier towards me. You will see me as your loving father who only wishes the best for you. You will enjoy my company, and you will eagerly agree to what I say.â
A small chuckle fell from Gillianâs lips before she tilted her head to the side in amusement, âMy name? Thatâs something youâll have to earn. Itâs not something Iâd willingly give to you, so until then I suppose Iâll just have to remain your mystery girl. Though, you do know at least one fact about me: my profession. Which is exactly why you should watch yourself. I may be young and small in size, but Iâm not afraid to kill you if it comes to that. But for now, I suppose that a truce will have to do. I donât just go around killing vampires for sport, I do it to protect people. Though, I have heard that you are particularly desperate when it comes to finding a mate⌠so I better not catch you nibbling on any innocent girlâs neck and becoming a cliche â especially with Halloween coming up, Iâm sure any girl would willingly step into their own little Twilight fantasy around this time of year. Or boy if you prefer.â She stated firmly, wanting to still keep her ground yet remain civil. âI suppose some company on the way home wouldnât be too bad, but donât think for a moment that youâre doing me a favor.âÂ
Dimitri couldnât help the chuckle that escaped him. He loved the girlâs fearlessness though some would consider it foolishness. However, Dimitri was no fool -- he knew he had to be careful around those who had trained to be vampire hunters no matter their age and size. Though, he did have an inkling of an idea that the girl had not killed a vampire before -- or, at least, not many. Most seasoned hunters did not give a vampire a chance like this. âThank you for being so kind towards me. I promise you wonât see me drinking from an innocent girl this month, but I also promise I will find out your name by the end of it,â he challenged with a smirk. âI would never think of it as a favor, beautiful. Itâs my duty as a moral and considerate citizen of this community to ensure your safety. I shall wait by your door every night to fulfill you companion needs during the dark hours,â he offered. Though it was half a joke, he was also a bit serious about the offer. He hadnât many plans during the night considering many of the residents of the town would either be asleep or already occupied by others.

âOh goodness! I love hypnotism. Itâs great to have someone else who can do such things. Itâs a pleasure to meet you, darling.â
âIâm glad to have provided you with the pleasure. I am Dimitri and I hope I Â can continue to provide you companionship and entertainment.â
âI want a kiss so I can be a beautiful princess againâ He said before smirking. âNoâI want whatever youâll give meâ
âA precious god would wish for something so small as a kiss? I will provide it if itâs truly what you wish,â he agreed before taking the otherâs face into his hands and leaning forward for a gentle kiss, lips moving slowly against the other pair.
