A TEMPEST REFINED

I think the biggest issue you’d have tbh is the modern au. Because if you want to play in a fantasy setting it’s a bit annoying to go looking and all you see is slow burn coffee shop or crossovers with marvel. IDK why people decide to have a medieval fantasy based character but not actually rp much within the world. Not to mention the same characters repeated 100’s of times makes unique partners SO HARD to find.

GoT is my other fandom! Just…. tbh both it and Tolkien have some high quality assholes. GoT just had an implosion recently, too. The groups tend to be very niche and, most annoyingly, because they’re so picky and petty you see a lot of the ‘modern AU’. It’s why I’m not overly active there anymore BU Not to mention Book vs. Movie / Tv Show canon.

You could go with option b but I’m pretty sure that side of the fandom is quiet af right now. If it helps at all I always find writing random, unrelated drabbles or fanfics for a muse you’re having difficulty with helps a lot. It just gets that sound of that character back into your head

Tolkien could easily crossover with GOT, but I think even GOT has been pretty quiet lately-- and I can’t think of any other major fantasy settings that have a presence in Tumblr RP.

I was feeling kinda low muse last week as it was, and then I went and made the mistake of binge watching all the extended Hobbit + LOTR movies. Sooooo, my muse is back, but it’s for Middle Earth now.

I don’t necessarily want to add any Tolkien muses to this blog because literally all of my followers are modern/sci-fi and it just wouldn’t be a good fit. I’ve been satiating my muse by pulling out a homebrew fantasy setting and developing history and characters for that, but if this keeps up, I basically see one of two things happening:

a. I keep my head down for a few weeks and just keep working on my personal projects until it’s out of my system or

b. I create a new blog for one or more Middle Earth muses, in which case I would most certainly promo it here. I’d be down for crossovers by all means, I just don’t want to inflict any weird crossovers on anyone who doesn’t want them.

“Well, that’s one a’ the first times someone’s called me DIGNIFIED. But good change of tune, there, boyo.”

She raised her glass, taking a sip and green eyes watching him from a hooded look. Flash some eyelashes, toss the hair, and men were dumb. Not that she was the sort to play a flirt, but she knew when she needed to play her cards appropriately. She’d just have to hit the fresher afterwards.

Her gut was telling her this guy was trouble. More so than the usual fodder which hung out in this dump. But she knew she had to hold her ground and keep him off any type of trail.

She leaned back against the bar, resting her elbows on it and letting her assets speak a bit for themselves. She tilted her head, looking him over with a slight smirk on red lips.

“So. You were askin’, now it’s my turn. What brings you to this outer rim dump?”

“Work. The usual.” 

The Rebellion never outright proclaimed that they were the Rebellion; there were layers and layers of secrecy in place for protection. Normally he appreciated the long game of ingratiating himself with a new cell of Rebels-- sometimes he even set up elaborate struggles against the Empire to curry favor. But today he had no such luxury. He was on the CHRONO, and that meant he’d have to rely on his charms to get a lead.

Yeah, that was going well so far.

“I’m an independent contractor with a modest cargo ship. I’m just dropping off a routine shipment for one of my regular clients.” If that didn’t scream SMUGGLER, he wasn’t sure what would. The Rebellion so loved its smugglers; they were one of the few ways for a large underground movement to properly mobilize.

Add some Mass Effect muses.

Actually do some drafts.

She wasn’t dumb. She could tell the man was sniffing around for information. And she could play the game. And send him off on the wrong track if need be.

She was curious as to which information he wanted; to verify she was the target on a few bounties or something more ‘noble,’ as people at base said.

“OR a good time.” He lifted his glass in a toast to her, offering a cheeky smile as he took a sip. 

He was on a deadline, and that was making him restless. But she had a point-- there was no reason to get too HASTY. Worst case scenario, he could beat the information he needed out of someone. It was a quick way to blow his cover, but there were always rebel cells that had never met Atlas Vega.

That was one of the beautiful things about the Rebellion. With so much emphasis on ANONYMITY, it made blending in a cinch.

“Ya oughta buy a girl a DRINK before askin’ so many QUESTIONS.”
